necroing this, But it does not work with the latest versions of battle tech, which is a shame as i was looking forward to modding my mechs engines. It just black screens the game and no longer loads after the HBS logo page.
I'm quite excited about this mod. I'll give it a try this weekend in a new campaign and see how it feels.
I'd love to hack up all the various chassis in JKs variants to work with your engines, and eventually add bulky Ferro armor and Endo Steel "items" with negative weights as well.
A minor suggestion; to retain compatibility with Center Torso-only upgrades (re: gyro-based), consider limiting the critical(s) taken up by the 'engines' to just 1 slot?
EDIT: Nevermind, I should've read the mod description more carefully. Increasing the number of Center Torso critical slots to 8 (even if the UI doesn't show it) is a tad messy, but I suppose it works.
