This mod alters the "event_co_cratesOfMistakes" event (you probably know it as the 'hamburger event'):
You now have the choice of having the hamburger event happen, or having one of ten random events happen instead.
Either way, the actual event will happen the next day.

You shouldn't have to restart your game to have the event work properly.

--------------

It may be possible to bug out your game if you do the following:

Some of the added random events require having 10,000 c-bills and having 3 uninjured mech warriors. The hijacked hamburgers event shouldn't fire if these things aren't true, but the following random events can't actually NOT happen if you somehow change these things in the day between the hijacked hamburgers event and the random event.

So if you have the 'hijacked' hamburgers event fire, don't drop into a battle and end up without 3 uninjured mech warriors before the next day random event happens. Also, don't drop below 10,000 c-bills in that day, but not sure how you'd do THAT.

--------------

The currently understood limits of modding are that events not in [...]\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\MDD\MetadataDatabase.db database won't be randomly chosen to happen. It's possible to add events to the database, but that means distributing another file, and potentially having compatibility problems with any other mod that also adds stuff to the database.

However, it's possible to 'hijack' events already in the database that happen randomly, and cause them to fire other events. There are a few limitations here, but it's easy some to add more events this way, for people getting tired oh hamburgers.

--------------

Install:
Copy 'events' folder to your [...]\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data and choose to over-write files.
Open VersionManifest.csv in [...]\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data and add the lines from 'version manifest add lines.txt' to the bottom, but above the ending comma.

--------------

Uninstall:
copy the 'events' folder from the 'backup' folder into your [...]\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data and choose to over-write the files.
Open VersionManifest.csv and remove the added lines.

--------------

If you just want to see what the events are, you can copy the milestones in the testing folder into your game. That sets up a caompaign start that skips directy from character creation to the dropship, and fires the 'hijacked hamburgers' event four times over the next few days. You can save the game right at the start, and then load it over and over again, if you want to see more of the events.

The backup folder in the testing folder has the original story milestones. You can just copy them back over the testing ones when you are done.
