This mod will not show up when searching for "difficulty", please consider changing the mod name to two words instead of one. I only found your mod from a suggestion in another mod's posts.
Nice thing, flashpoints before campaign end is something i was hoping for from the beginning of the dlc. But question for me is how nice does ID play with BTX, BTA or RT?
I know that with BTX the systems get their difficulty based on the system not the campaign.
can I install the updated version of this mod and have it's new effects apply to a campaign already in progress? (I had the original 1.0 version of the mod installed for a long time and never knew there was an update).
I guess it should, though if your campaign is already progressed quite far chancves are you won't notice the difference. The main fix is that the rating required for certain contract difficulties is adjusted. I THINK that should work mid-campaign.
BTW how do I change notifications to send me an email if someone raises a question on this thread? I rarely ever look here.
There's something strange... I am honoured now with many factions and have a MRB rating of over 850, but I still can't take missions with more than 2 stars difficulty, except flashpoints and story missions. I don't think that's working like intended.
Short answer: No, you have to start a new campaign.
Longer answer: Vanilla game applies a base difficulty that gets raised after certain story missions, and each system has a modifier between -2 and 2 (I think) that gets added on top of this. This mod removes the increase from strors missions keeping your base difficulty at 0 and then replaces the system modifiers with an individual number between 0 and 10. If you have already done some story missions and then add this mod your difficulty will no longer rise, but it will already be higher then 0, so depending on how far you have progressed your difficulty will be higher at the cost of variety. However 10 being the maximum you will possibly just have a ton of max difficulty systems and a couple medium ones. If you already have the Argo you will also not go past the checkpoint freeing the entire map and activating Flashpoints so there is very little point in installing this mod. And since the Argo is pretty early in the campaign it boils down to the short version: Just start a new campaign.
Started a new campaign and the contract I'm supposed to get after the first mission isn't available. It's gated behind reputation I don't have. Moreover there don't seem to be any 0.5 difficulty systems at all.
Tanks for the info. I did indeed make a mistake there. I have now tweaked the difficulty of the original 4 star systems so that the offer 0.5 contracts. That should also include the travel contract you're offered at start.
Thanks for the response, I'll check it out. I think some of the reputation-related issues are probably not your fault. I'm getting a LOT of contracts locked behind reputation that I didn't get in vanilla. At first I thought it was because of this mod but I now doubt this and am investigating other possibilities.

1.1 should be compatible with 1.0 savegames.
