  • Engine Swapping without Mech Engineer

    Hi everyone, I am new to Battletech modding and I have been hard at work resurrecting an idea first created by the NexusMods user "CrusherBob".
    He attempted to manipulate Mechs' WalkSpeed and RunSpeed variables (just like Natasha Kerensky's Widows Kiss ability) in equipment items. However, he was using JumpJets for whatever reason, and he was locking the individual engines to specific tonnages. I have found that it is possible to assign Mechs a movement multiplier (which can be based on Tonnage or completely arbitrary) and then use custom Engine components to further multiply those numbers.

    I have only edited the 5 mechs that you start with in a New Career with "Randomize Starting Mechs" disabled, so to test my proof-of-concept mod you must start a new ...
