I have BattleTech Extended - Commander's Edition 3025 installed, and it seems to list this as one of the mods it came pre-loaded with, but it never activated...I'm into 3030 at this point in my playthrough. I checked the JSON files, and it says that it's enabled.
I had it activate which is actually why I'm here, this one needs some rather severe editing on the dialogue side of things, you really aren't missing much at the moment and I really hope this gets worked on.
side note this one only appears for something like 200 days during 3027, if you missed it this one's not set to respawn.
I really liked the idea of this flashpoint mod but was not impressed at the low difficulty when I played the flashpoint. If you're a fan of the books, these battles were knuckle-biters and came down to just scraping by and barely winning out of sheer luck. I wish it would have been more of a challenge. Other than that, I did like it. Still endorsed...
In the first mission - after defeating the enemy mech and capture the place i find myself automatically in the second battle - the one that i need to 'save' Kalmar and a bunch of hoover units. Also, my mech changed - to another of mine. Is that normal? I'm playing with BEX-CE.
I have to admit to some curiosity; if you have the event where a member of your crew is invited to join, will he or she show in the ranks of the Grey Death Legion?
Hi Ablomis, I love the idea behind the Gray Death Legion. I am curious does it work in Campaign mode or Career Mode? Approximately what year does Birth of a Legend kickoff the Gray Death Campaign?
It's nice to see famous Mercenary Units get shown off.
How hard would it be to modify it to kick off in 3024, to be in synch with lore ? The Trell 1 campaign kicked off in 3024 in books, sourcebooks, etc. By 3029, they had already had the betrayal at helm, found the memory core, etc.
I just wanted to add that as much as I think this flashpoint campaign shows promise, the excessive use of forced units makes it a drag. I tried it as part of the Roguetech options, and there are serious balance issues in forcing the use of specific mechs on the player, particularly with the AI changes and difficulty boosts inherent to the Roguetech mod.
For example - in the 2nd or 3rd flashpoint in the campaign you are tasked with base defense using a lance of generally terrible mechs, with the goal of lasting X number of turns until reinforcements. This would be fine in the vanilla game since you could exploit the AI's rule of "if you hit me I'll attack you and ignore the buildings I want to destroy", but with RT that doesn't work anymore. On three separate attempts mechs I attacked ignore my lance's attacks and destroyed the buildings regardless. (even worse - need to protect 5 buildings, but only 6 are present! can only lose 1)
If I had the option of using one or two of my own mechs, at least I could have the option of shutting down enemy attacks with accurate targeted shots, heat damage, or stability damage from artillery. As it stands it is just frustrating - hard pass.
Hi, the description says: This Flashpoint has two versions: One that requires Battletech Extended Commander Edition?. One that requires RogueTech mod. Please use the corresponding file for the installed mod.
But I can only find one download under files - is there a chance to get the RoughTech Version still? Thanks!

Glad you've made it to the mission on time, Commander. Once we destroy Kurita lance, we will head for Evac.
a quick edit to what this should probably be;
I'm glad you've made it to the mission on time commander. Once we destroy the Kuritan lance we will head for evac.
these types of mistakes are consistent throughout this flashpoint.

I'm playing with BEX-CE.
I went from using a Griffin to a Firestarter which was a large decrease in firepower :-(
using the mod included with BEX-CE (ver 1.9.3.2)
Thanks,

It is set to fire in 3029. It works in Career mode, not sure about the campaign.
