Recently came back to Battletech, and I'm looking at what needs to be done to get these back into the stores. It seems simple enough, just very tedious. Though I must say, I do really like how HBS has handled the shop files now, so much cleaner than they used to be. It just requires editing a lot of files.

...and now they have their own mod loader. which works. it doesn't seem like they changed how the store files work since 1.3 though.

have you tested it to see if it works with 1.8?

I'd really like to see a mod that only adds endo steel and other steels/armor like you do in this mod, with 1 slot.

    To mecrutio:

this mod needs updating for 1.3/flashpoint.

also, it would be good to make the coolant pods work like the guts 8 "cooling" skill instead of how they work now. right now, they just are the equivalent of 10 regular heatsinks, which is wayyyy OP.

That might have to wait until the code for the cooling ability is not part of an asset bundle maybe. I can't figure how to attach a pilot ability to an item. but yeah... I think it would be perfect if it worked just like the cooling ability, but instead of permanent recharge over 4 turns, you just get to use it a limited number of turns per combat, like 3. leave it as a support weapon though. I bet it would be too much effort to code it, but it would be cool (pun intended).

Hey folks, not trying to get hopes up but I'm testing a Modtek version of this mod. Once I can verify it works, I'll post a link for download.

Edit: Ok, I bounced around from several SL planets and finally found a couple Inferno weapons! So, preliminary tests say this works. I'm not 100% sure if it's just a modtek mod exclusively - I have BTML and Modtek installed.

Here's the link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/xbpguf71ss7y5u5/EclipseTech.7z (I hope this works, I've never used Mediafire before)

Make sure you have BTML and Modtek installed. Place the folder in this zip into Battletech/mods and launch the game. Please let me know if you have any issues!

Mecrutio, the only credit I take is for converting it to work with modtek - your mod is awesome! Please please if you want to, take what I have uploaded and add it to your download page! That is, if this 100% works! I will continue testing to see how many of your weapons and items I can find!

I did make a couple of edits though - for some reason your Thunderbolt ammo boxes were listed as weapons in the shops file, I changed them to ammo boxes. If there was a specific reason you did this, please feel free to enlighten me and change the files!

So far I have been able to find the following:

      SRM Inferno 2/4/6
      Thunderbolt 15
      Thunderbolt 5 ammo
      Endo Steel

I have done about 100 runs between two SL store to test.

Mecrutio, I would recommend making one single Thunderbolt Ammo item instead of 4. That will put them in line with the rest of the *RM weapon systems.

Edit: Actually I just found out that LRM Ammo works for the Thunderbolts...

thanks for taking the time to do this. working or not, (and it looks like it is) the effort is much appreciated.

      cheers

      edit:

sadly, I think 1.3/flashpoint broke this (maybe because of the new way the black market works?) I cannot get it to work even with the latest BTML/Modtek

a LOT of testing and I still never see the items in the shops (likely because of the way the shops are done now in 1.3...there is a way to properly add your items in now if you search on this issue on the modding forums).

however, I have never ever seen anything appear as salvage on the battlefield other than endosteel parts (of which I have found about a dozen of various types). not in over 100 battles.

      weird.

ah, I spoke too soon. I just had a cooling pod drop for the first time. soooo rare.

I guess it's because there needs to be a whole bunch of conditions met before it will make it into the loot table. probably a good thing.

I would love to see this converted to a modTek file so there is no file overwriting.

Figured it out after long time !

    STEP 1:
    --copy all 7 subfolders to:BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\mods
! (create mods folder with lower case if it does not exist) !

    STEP 2:
    --open "mecrutio_shops\shopdef_All_mecrutio.json"
--add a comma to the end of line 5, like this: "planet_other_starleague",

    STEP 3:
--copy the contents of "Combined Manifest.txt" to right before the last comma of this file
    "BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data\VersionManifest.csv"

    STEP 4:
--rock out with your ... mech! out

Not sure what im doing wrong.
Most of my other mods are through ModTek.

This is one of two manual mods ive installed.
    The other works.

My problem is when trying to start a new campaign I get infinite loading.

    What Ive done:
    Copied file folders into Battletech/Battletech_Data/StreamingAssets/data/mods
Altered the Version manifest file using MitchMeister03 post

    When done, game wont load.

To add to this, I also went back and made my own Version manifest based on the read me files included with the DL.
Even tried using a random single one.

      Same effect.

Check carefully that the path in the versionmanifest is correct: if you copied the files in data/mods you should have

      Weapon_Coolant_Pod,WeaponDef,data/mods/mecrutio_coolant_pod/Weapon_Coolant_Pod.json,15,2018-02-27T00:45:29.0165247Z,2018-04-05T01:11:45.3225986Z,,,False,0,False

      instead of

      Weapon_Coolant_Pod,WeaponDef,mods/mecrutio_coolant_pod/Weapon_Coolant_Pod.json,15,2018-02-27T00:45:29.0165247Z,2018-04-05T01:11:45.3225986Z,,,False,0,False

or whatever path you chose. ;-)

While I do not consider myself to be the real world incarnation of Rache Bartmoss, neither do I think myself to be a total Luddite. I've been playing with mods for various games since the days of the first Diablo game. Despite years of familiarity with the overall modding process, I simply can NOT make this mod work. I've tried editing the VersionManifest.csv until I have the blasted thing memorized line by line. I've moved the individual folders from location to location wherever I can glean that someone here in these posts has managed to discern where the Cameron-cursed thing should go. Nothing I have tried allows it to fully load. I always end up stuck in the infinite loading loop where my "load" button is grayed out and though it is lit, the "continue" button does nothing when clicked. Let me re-emphasize that this behavior only occurs whenever I've tried fooling around with this mod to get it installed. I have @ 20+ other mods all loaded and functioning smoothly.
I would really love to get a chance to try working with these items in the game. Could the owner, or hell, even a well-intentioned fellow modder/player, PLEASE give a complete and correct version of the EXACT installation structure to make this thing work? The instructions on the primary page are... lacking... at best. It's such a shame too. It's obvious that a whole lot of work has gone into creating these items. This code. I'm sure more people could enjoy it if there were simply better installation instructions.

Any chance to get a ModTek version now that it's out of alpha? Love this mod, but it's a real PITA installing it again after every update.
