Hi jcarlc84, Please see https://github.com/BattletechModders/ModTek/wiki/The-Drop-Dead-Simple-Guide-to-Installing-BTML-&-ModTek-&-ModTek-mods Best regards, Mad
Link just goes to the repo root and readme.md now which seems to only document how to create mods, not install them. Would love to try this out with BTAU but I'm not finding any documentation on where the files need to go. I dropped the folder in /mods next to the other BTAU mods but it's not showing up in the in-game mod list, so I bet I'm missing something, but without any guide at all I'm stuck.
EDIT: I loaded the game and played a mission, dropping the mod folder directly in /mods worked, even though it didn't show up in the in-game mod list. HUGE improvement, my favorite mod yet!
Hi FreakyCracker, This mod is supposed to be used with all ingame camera options set to disabled already, *but*, in theory, you could whitelist some of the events that are related to an ingame setting and try if it behaves the way you want. Sorry i cannot tell you more, i can't play myself atm. Let me know what combinations potentially work, i'm curious.... Best regards, Mad
So, dumb question: If I whitelist everything I only get the unlocked camera during the normal ingame camera sequences? That would be exactly what I want.
Hi daedalusxxi, I have no insights in how BTA handles its submods, or if any special actions need to be taken regarding load-order or similar. What you describe shouldn't be necessary tbh... for me everything works as expected (running a custom collection of ~20mods). Best regards, Mad
Hi mountainmanjoe, It means "putting the event target in the center of the camera without doing anything else" (no zoom, no rotation change, nothing). The game's normal options can do that. Put this mod on top, turn all focus events to false, and the camera will barely move at all unless told so by user input.. Best regards, Mad
I disabled all mods except for yours, and the camera started behaving the way I want (didn't zoom out during attacks). So the setting was being overridden by another mod (probably camera_settings). Do you know which of the CombatGameConstants controls this?
Also, what do these events in the whitelist do? "BattleTech.ArtilleryObjectiveSequence.SetState", "BattleTech.ArtillerySequence.SetState",
I'm probably missing which item I'm looking for... but the only real thing I need, NEED, to stop is the stupid over the shoulder crap when choosing a target. You know the way they force you to look down the line of sight?

question though, i looked through all the files in the mod file... and it's not clear:
How do i whitelist something? I like some of the cinematics, and wanted to play around a bit.
To unlist its clear to delete in the mod.json file i believe..
Ah now i get why u listed all the suppressed lines. Is it correct to just add one of those there?
P.S. I also wondered if it changes anything when I change the original 'Gameplay' camera settings in game or if they are completely overrridden

what does "simple focus on the relevant position " mean? Panning? Zooming?
I hate how the camera zooms out for the attack animation. I want it to not budge. Can this mod do that?

"BattleTech.ArtillerySequence.SetState",
Could anyone tell me which event this is?
And thanks, for your time and the mod.
This can be turned off via normal ingame settings i believe?
