    This mod breaks your game. First Argo mission it wants you to pick 9 Salvage items, UI only allows 7, stuck.

      I found a fix for the story mission problem.
      Edit the file in C:\GOG Games\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data\contracts\story_3_axylus\Story_3_Axylus_Default.json
      (You might need to ignore the "C:\gog games" part of the path. Just look in the Battletech game directory.)
      Edit the file Story_3_Axylus_Default.json
      Line 12 should be

      "salvagePotential" : 72,

      Change the 72 to 54. It reduces the amount of salvage you get from the mission, but doesn't break the game either.
      I am willing to bet making similar changes to other story missions in the contracts folder will fix it.
      You MIGHT be able to go higher than 54, I haven't done extensive testing.

      This leaves everything else intact for normal missions but doesn't break the story mission.

    Er, this mod doesn't seem to work with the 1.3 game version.
    Took me 3 hours finding the problem only from the fact that the game crashes right after the mission. I have removed all ModTek mods, but to no avail - then I remembered that I installed some "non-standard" mods with direct asset copy. Luckily, I had a backup of the assets.
    Now I know that I should have been vary of the last update date - 03 May 2018, this mod hasn't been updated for half a year.
    Please oh please, take it off so no one else wastes hours because of it...

    Use this mod at your own caution, also read all the comments in this section, I wish I did.

    This mod is kind of janky. It doesnt give me the option to choose what salvage I get, it auto-assigns salvage at random. This mod screwed me out of finishing my set for an enforcer because it decided to not only choose my loot for me, but chose exclusively bulls*** crap like medium lasers and jump jets. Cool mod! More salvage alright, exclusively jump jets and crappy weapons is not what I had in mind when I was looking for more salvage. Needless to say Ive since deleted and uninstalled it. I presume some recent update to Battletech has causes issues with this mod. If it was updated however, Id gladly have a go at this again.

    Also I got shafted and lost an hour of playtime from this. Was doing a super hard story mission, and I FINALLY beat it, after 4 tries. When I got to the salvage choose option, I saw that I couldnt progress because I had to choose 8 salvage items, and there are only 7 slots visible to place them in. You cant leave the post-mission salvage screen until you choose them all either, so it effectively made me stuck and necessitated reloading a save... Which was before I even started the damn mission, meaning I have to do the whole god damn slog over again. Wish I read the comments below.

    Basically you can use this and ACTUALLY get more salvage that you can choose from if you DONT change the priority salvage value in simgameconstant file (however you WILL encounter game-breaking bugs on any story mission that gives more than 7 exclusive salvage items, which btw is basically every single story mission except the first one or two. Misc contracts/side missions that have a smaller salvage reward can actually be done without it breaking the game, a small mercy). If you do change that value however, the loot will be auto-selected for you, and if what happened to me is any indication, that means 15 jump jets, 7 heatsinks, 5 medium lasers, and NO mechs. This way you wont have your game walled in to a forced reload from being stuck, but it autolooting only the crap makes this mod completely useless. So its a damned if you do damned if you dont situation. In its current state I do NOT recommend it to anyone.

      if you want it to prioritize mech parts over weapons and components, change "DefaultMechPartWeight" to something like 200 (and maybe DefaultChassisWeight too, since I'm not sure what the difference is).

    Guys, this mod is golden. It's all math here. Let me show you how to setup ONE variable in your \BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data\ folder and edit the simGameConstants.json with notepad++ or this: https://pastebin.com/ and then this mod works great!

    These numbers reflect the DL for "1.5 times salvage and payout" version of this mod. So beware if you download a higher version and your maximum salvage for that contract is higher than 32, youll end up getting more than 7 salvage and the UI doesnt support more than 7 so youd be stuck in the post battle salvage selection screen!

    Find and set this value: "PrioritySalvageModifier" : 0.2499

    0.2499 is like saying you get 24.99% of the maxsalvagepotential, which should be by default at 32. We all know the post battle salvage screen UI is limited to 7 salvage parts and if your "PrioritySalvageModifier" was set to .25, then 25% of 32 is 8 and you're stuck at the UI interface after picking 7 pieces of salvage and the CONTINUE button is grayed out and will not let you exit that screen unless you add another piece of salvage but you cant. So game over. So set "PrioritySalvageModifier" to 0.2499 and if you ever get the max contract which is 32. then 24.99% of that is 7.9968 and is rounded down to 7, I've tested it. And the UI supports 7 max. So you get to select 7 pieces of choice salvage and are assigned random salvage up to the maximum of the contract, minus your 7 pieces of priority which is 25 random bits.

    Some peeps below said to set the number at 0.05 and if you do that and your max salvage for the mission is 16 pieces, then that'd be 5% of 16 is 0.8 rounded down to 0. Which means on the post battle selection screen where you pick salvage, you wont get to pick. You'll be awarded 16 random pieces, but none of it will be choice salvage. Had that number been, say, 0.15 then 15% of 16 pieces max would be 2.4 rounded down to 2. So you'd get to pick 2 pieces of salvage and be awarded 14 random pieces for a total of 16. Had the number been 0.2499 like I suggested, then that's 24.99% of 16 is 3.99 which is rounded down to 3. So after picking 3 pieces, you are awarded 13 random for a total of 16. Hope that makes sense.

    This mod is good, but you have to change the "PrioritySalvageModifier" to 0.2499 so you never get more than 7 pieces if you never changed your max salvage default value of 32.

    ok, i got a problem, i added this mod and forgot to take a backup of the files, i reinstaled, but the mod is still active.....this is what i get bekaus i dint read the coments first....

    Please fix this, or at least don't release it if you don't know how to set a hard limit of 7 for all missions. This mod has no point because i cant even play the game.

    Thanks for this mod.

    Somebody should make a mod where you can actually sell your mechs for more money than you can scrap them for. It's funny how so many internet tips and tricks guides say sell your mechs, yet you make more scrapping them. Seems like a bug that should have been officially fixed a long time ago.

      I've generally found I get more for selling them than scrapping, and that's just base cost. Then there's all the mods and such to sell off, too.
