Does this still work given all the patches that have been auto updating via Steam? I tested both version in the campaign and neither of them work (i.e. I played a campaign mission/contract and let several of my mechs die and sure enough they pop up in the mech bay as damaged).
This version is not supported anymore go over to the battletechmod reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/BattleTechMods/ to find the new one, setting it to hidden now.
The original version is the one where head damage does not count as destroyed, maybe the names are a bit misleading.
original: Head damage does not destroy your mech and you can punsh out fine. with head: Head damage counts as destroyed mech so punshing out means loosing the mech.
Thank you for the clarification! Looking forward to trying this later today alongside some mods to make the game more of a sandbox. Speaking of which, since I already have a modified SimGameConstants.json, is "DestroyedMechRecoveryChance" : 0 the only line that needs to be changed manually to avoid overwriting my existing modded file?
Ok. I'll do that tomorrow. On the meanwhile, I've tracked down the issue to the file Assembly-CSharp.dll On other words, the game started when I only used mods json file
Seems you have not touched the salvage chance. Considering that you'll be loosing mechs, and "producing more parts" to salvage, the player should be compensated a bit !
Ok, so what do you mean by Fully Recovered? Will they be fully repaired or will they be mechs that need serious refit? I like the idea of your mechs being destroyed and turned into salvage, seems realistic. Dunno why more arent using this mod. Question, why are there two files for download? Wtf is a code snipet?

Or even better make it a random based chance to salvage cored enemy mech.
In my mod we are getting still too much mech salvage. ;)

By fully recovered i mean exactly as the game usually behaves, your mech will not be removed.
