Incase anyone has a little technical knowhow, and wants to make an updated version, here's what i did. Unpack contents from this mod with bnkextr (https://github.com/eXpl0it3r/bnkextr/releases). Locate file: 1036797818.wem, copy it to somewhere you remember. Make a backup of your original music.bnk (Steam\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\Audio\GeneratedSoundBanks\Windows)
Open original (but backed up) music.bnk with java tool bnkEditor (https://github.com/marieismywaifu/BNKEditor/releases/tag/v1.0). Browse in tool to 1036797818.wem and select replace. Browse for replace to the 1036797818.wem file you copied from the extracted mod eariler. Save modified bnk as something, and replace your original music.bnk (once again, make sure to keep a backup).
Terrific mod. What did you use to encode the BNK file? I've played with extractors, but haven't done it to reverse it. I'd be interested to see how far this could be taken.
More of this.. Ya know HBS cannot use the music from the older games (And oh dear god that would mean dealing with activision and you do not want THEIR fingers in your pie, or you wont have any pie left!)But We can as long as its a mod...
Yes, I think the game has a wonderful score, the intro in particular is amazing! I think the loading music in the context of menu switching was OK but definitely not for battle deployment. :)
