Mod breaks the tutorial, preventing progress of campaign: at the point in the opening tutorial where you are required to jump down the cliff, this mod reduces the range of your jump so much that you can't make it to the designated spot. Since the tutorial doesn't allow you to take *any* other actions other than to jump to that specific location with a single action, this mod prevents you from progressing past the first thirty seconds of gameplay.
Do not download, it completely breaks the entire game.
EDIT: I've been playing for a couple days since this post and have yet to see a holdback event. So if you also don't like them, I'm almost certain the instructions below work.
I see I'm not the only one who dislikes the holdback system (though calling this mod a scam is outright ridiculous), so here's how you disable it as far as I can tell:
In the LootMagnet folder, open mod.json, then go to the list of every instance of:
"HoldbackTrigger" : [NUMBER]
The document is a short one, so it'll be easy to find. I'm no coder, but I'm pretty sure that number represents the percentage chance for a holdback to occur. So change that number to 0 and save.
hello! I am trying to get the mod working for BTE CE (it is included with it) The roll back and scrap sell from salvage screen bits.
I changed rollback to true in the settings but I still have yet to have the AI keep any salvage from me. Though Ive only done work for the Aragano restoration so far which loves me so maybe that is it?
I also couldnt get the newest version on github working, though im not sure I understood the file structure. I didnt even see a .dll in that.
The description says there's a "HoldbackAlwaysForMechs" option in mod.json, but it's not in the current version. Did the ""MechParts" : [ 2, 6 ]," line replace it? If so, what values would be equivalent to setting HoldbackAlwaysForMechs to true?
Also, is this the mod that adds the "shift+click to sell" QOL improvement in the salvage screen? The description makes no mention of this.
If so, then I have a small little request that anyone reading the discussion boards is already anticipating...
SELLING MECH PARTS in the loot screens!!
There's a certain nasty business in getting mech parts that really does need addressing; You still can't sell the things like weapons or components and whenever you get enough parts for a mech type Yang builds the thing automatically. This can clog up your frigging Mechbay. It's not as if the contractor wouldn't mind buying off Mech parts you don't want. Hell, someone needs to make a mod just to stop Yang doing that but if you can shift+click to sell the parts off it's a dead letter!! (This term courtesy of ComStar)
Are you f*#@ing retarded or something? It says literally everything it does right in the description... Are you just limited in your mental reading capacity or do you just have selective attention? If you have a problem with the holdback system or dont understand how the game's loot system works thats hardly the mod's fault; that is very much a 'you' problem, or an issue you have with a feature (again, a 'you' problem...). Literally nothing about this makes it a "scam" or "designed to trick people", you moron.
How can I disable Holdback entirely? I really, really, really hate the idea that they can just reach into my hard-won salvage pool and hold back the +++ kit and LosTech stuff that I risked my life to turn into salvage, and then plan on using a whole salvage pick to claim.
And other than that, I'm the one with guns and the salvage crew on the scene. I should be able to just break contract and cart away everything if I feel like it, at the cost of no cash and, presumably, a major MRB/faction rep hit. Is that supported?
Also, Pirates should never ever get to hold anything back. Pirates know the score - the man with the gun on the ground makes the rules, and they don't care about your Merc Board score.
(Actually, going full-pirate should basically mean low cash payouts, but you get to cart away absolutely everything, every single time.)
Darius negotiated for that extra 10% - 20% for doing extra work outside the main contract but that in the vanilla game only applies to the C-Bills from the payout. Meaning if you put the slider to max salvage the bonus payments are utterly a slap in your face.
So does this fix that by also changing bonus payouts for missions to include salvage rights & not just C-Bills?

Works Perfectly. Great mod. thanks.

(make sure you use the correct LootMagnet. The Github one requires one dependency besides ModTek. The Nexusmod is standalone (still must have ModTek).

Takes away all the best salvage and leaves you with shit.. Totally avoid its a scam mod designed to trick people..
