LORE
One of the oddest cannon 'Mechs out there - this Urbanmech variant was intentionally built without arms in order to present a smaller target silhouette.

While it was indeed (slightly) harder to hit/target, the loss of the arms have also contributed to making the 'Mech a bit off balanced.

Ultimately the project was a failure, but there were enough produced that these are still seen well into 3025.

Details
This is a complete 'Mech mod, butchering the original Urbie file in order to give us this armless wonder.

Both Bloody Doves and I worked through this 'Mech (really, BD did all the heavy lifting here) just for the fun of it. The intention is to use it for the OpFor, but if Urbies are your thing, you may want to collect one of these for you Company as well.

How to install
Like other 'Mech mods, you will need ModTek ?(6.0+) to run this mod. I have only included the Vanilla files for this 'Mech so far, but maybe BD will make some up for Mech Engineer.

Unzip and place this folder in your BATTLETECH/Mods folder and it should run automatically the next time you load your game.

Issues
I initially tried to make the 'Mech have a 0/0 (Armor/Internal Structure) for the Arms, but then the MechLab saw the 'Mech as damaged and needing repairs before being able to drop. But, since it was 0/0 there was nothing to repair. As a compromise, 1 IS has been added to each arm. While the arms aren't 'there' the location can (and will) be destroyed, giving the sparks/damaged look from taking an arm off a standard Urbie.

Also, as the stock Urbie doens't have torso mounted ACs, a bit of mumbo jumbo was done and we now have a cannon ;)

Kudos
I couldn't have done this mod without Bloody Doves - he surgically removed those arms, and helped me to define the parts using the ModTek annotations. He also identified a conflict with my ChassisDef filem which led to the finished product.

Happy hunting!
