I think the idea is that even the best +++ equipment should still be inferior to Star League era equipment due to most technological knowledge being lost to the succession wars. Instead of adding the chance for + star league items, all star league items should be smaller, lighter, have better range, accuracy, damage and less heat by default. Am I wrong in my thinking here?
I don't know if you even care about this anymore, but yes, you are wrong in your thinking there. Because what you're describing is Clan tech. SL tech (which Clan tech is derived from) represents what is essentially early advancements in various fields. Better than stock in some ways, though typically with a commensurate drawback; an ER PPC, for example has the same mass, volume, and damage profile of a stock version, but with enhanced range, no minimum range, and increased heat generation.
Further improvements were undoubtedly planned--the Star League-in-Exile took veritable mountains of research data with them that the Clans would later use for their developments--but the whole "Amaris kicked over the applecart and the Successor Lords pissed on the apples" thing kind of put an end to that.
I really enjoy this mod, the gear is not always the best for a given mission but it really is superior to the junk star league equipment used to be. Thanks for your hard work on this... and I placed your mod into the mod folder within the applications installation directory... Not in the one under documents/my games
So far as I can tell, no none of the ones that add star league stuff to shops seems to be working since at least Urban Warfare or a few weeks before. I've tried 3 of them (including this one) alone and in every combination with each other with repeated checks at the places they supposedly sell the items at. Never seen gauss ammo at any of the shops either. I am still in the campaign (which I started after modding) though, just before the 'no turning back' 'will field multiple lances' contract so maybe that's my problem.
What the hell does "initiate override protocols" even mean? I swear, some of these mods installation instructions are ridiculous. Either that or Im just a bonehead, an equally likely possibility.

Have you tried using the latest versions of BTML and modtek? They are here Modtek and BTML. Mpstark has disappeared so janxious has been working on it.
I take it; that no longer works? Tired today. edited the lines and all (date added and date modified). had infinite load, noticed the mod folder location did not match the csv files location fixed that and now I have FPS only.
For anyone that wants it Enhanced Star League Gear this is the modtek conversion. These are the same files from Mharius' Battletech Enhanced. Youll need both Modtek and BTML and both are here mpstark's Github. Instructions are there as well, or get Battletech Mod Manager here on the Battletech Nexus.
I ran into almost the same problem, except I didn't get the FPS counter, just the infinite loading. I opened up the .csv file with excel, and noticed the new entries were missing values in 3 cells (dates, it looks like) I copied in the values from the cells above, saved, and it ran fine. Not sure if it was just my system, but hopefully this will help someone
Here are proper instructions for anyone having issues: 0. Back up your StreamingAssets folder. It is about 3 gb. 1. Extract the data & mods folder into BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\ 2. Click Yes when prompted to overwrite files. 3. Open BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data\VersionManifest.csv in a program that can properly recognize comma delimited files like Excel. 4. Rename csv.txt to csv.csv, click yes on warning about renaming file extensions, and open csv.csv in excel. 5. Copy each line by clicking the first row and shift-down arrow or shift-click selecting the last line, and paste it after the last line in your VersionManifest.csv. A vanilla file should have 8110 rows. 6. You will notice date added and date modified blank for the new rows. Just copy the date added and modified from the last row before you added new values. Save and overwrite existing file. 7. Become the Star Lord.
Thank you so much for the guide, was EXTREMELY useful as I didn't really know where to start. I just made my first attempt & noticed I had to specifically tell Excel when opening the newly save csv file to accept the delimited files by "comma". But after saving adding this to the bottom row & saving I'm getting what others have posted where it's just a black screen with an FPS counter in the upper right. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated as I would consider myself novice as best but I can follow instructions :-)
