Not working correctly with the last 1.9.1 update. The new weapons added by the Heavy Metal DLC have broken audio or no audio at all.
Seems like this mod is not going to be updated anymore. Can anyone point me where I get tools to unpack/repack the *.bnk files to allow it to function with the new update for personal use?
Really like the sounds for the lasers, PPC and ACs, but found that the sounds for both the LRMs and SRMs sounded distorted for some reason. The stock missile sounds aren't bad, so deleting the new ones works fine for me.
If you edit your weapon files and replace (for example): "WeaponEffectID" : "WeaponEffect-Weapon_LB5X", with "WeaponEffectID" : "WeaponEffect-Weapon_AC5", then the sound works again. Sadly, that seems to change the visual effect too, so the LBX fires projectiles like a standard AC. Ultras work fine though.
I've tried this with Heavy Metal, and so far the PPC Snub isn't working properly... But just remove the PPC file and it works fine, it seems.
Haven't tried it with the coil guns or the different AC versions from the DLC's either. UPDATE: I tried it with Coil and UAC, and so far, neither works. As far as I can tell, only the LRM, SRM and Laser files are unaffected. The rest will have to be kept original if you want to use the weapons added in the DLC's.
But if you run into problems with any of those, just remove the corresponding sound file and you should be back to stock sounds for them.
EDIT: In fact, after some testing, you don't even have to close down the game and start it again after switching back the old sound files, since it seems the game loads the files before every battle.
seems like the lrm has a bug when using custom ammo. i use BTA 3026 and when any deployed mech has non standard lrm ammo (artiv, or ftl for example) you cant shoot. you click n shoot and nothing happens except a zoom to the target. exchanged with the stock lrm soundbank, all works as normal
