DL the file. Add the mechdef, chassis, and engine heat sinks to the the appropriate folders in BT. Open the modded milestone file, copy the lines for the two new mechs, and paste them into the game's corresponding milestone file (remove the Highlander lines, or not, at the same time). Save file, and done. Took me about 2 minutes and it works fine.
BTW, the SL Black Knight is pretty much the best damn mech you could ask for. Mine has near-max armor, full weapons, support weapons, and can jump around the battlefield all day long without suffering heat buildup. You will like it, trust me.
any chance you could post some screenshots of the changes you've made to make this work properly, my attempts have it throwing an infinite load screen and an "argument cannot be null" error in the output log file that is looping apparently....it may be that i am just that tired of thinking after a hard days work or just me, but you appear to have it working so you must have done something right...
Just started playing BT again (BTA 3062 this time). If anyone else find themselves on this page trying to get this to work, I would recommend just downloading the save editor and use it to add the mechparts for the Black Knight and Griffin, and deleting the Highlander after completing the mission. It's easier and there is almost no room for error.
Any chance Zoticus could update the mod file so we can just download it and pop it into the mod folder and not have to worry about breaking the game again?
Okay, so after much trial and error in trying to get the game to work via the method Kilgore described, i finally bit the bullet and re-verified my games files after deleting all files associated with the mod from the game, then went in and discovered that all the mech files you need are already in the game, so really all you have to do to get the mod more or less working is to just edit the Milestone file to give you the mechs but you wont get the engine double heatsink, which is part of what has been breaking the game recently, but that is easily worked around by DL the Double heatsink mod by Eshir and you should have a decent replacement, just hold yourself bak from using more than one per mech.....
This is a really neat idea. I wish we could find partial salvage of these 2 in lostech worlds or just very rarely see them in random contracts (with how many random SLDF facilities we're either tasked with protecting/capturing/destroying in this part of space) just to help get ourselves some nice mechs.
You left the Stability values on these mechs at 100. The new BT update raised the stability values. The Griffin GRF-4N should be 130, the Blackknight BL-6B-KNT should be 160, the Highlander HGN-732B and the Atlas AS7-D-HT should both be 200.
Thanks for pointing this out. I have corrected the chassis json files in the mod to only adjust the values necessary. Stability values will now use those from the base game (or other mods).

I've uploaded the correct zip file and it's available now.
