Ammo for fusion engine powered flames is definitely not canon, so this mod is fairly lore-friendly. That being said, vehicles not powered by fusion engines (most of them) can mount ammo-based flamers - I dont think this is relevant for the game though. Good mod!
Hi, i really hope you're still working on this, because without this the flamers are now completely useless with 4 ammo. And the recent update broke this mod.
Edit: NVM, it doesn't seem to be your mods that's broken. i reinstalled every mod and it seems to have fixed. i think there may have been an update to ModTek or BTML that fixes this.
Nope... It's a ModTek mod so you first have to install ModTek, here's the best guide I've found: (note: sadly, Windows-only... I'd make a Mac/Linux version if I knew how!)
Once you follow those instructions you'll have a "Mods" folder right in your root Battletech install folder. Just drop the decompressed directory for this mod inside there and you should be good to go! You'll know it's active because when viewing a loadout, if you look at a flamer it will say "Bonus: Quad" in the description
Not working for me either. I have ModTek and BTML installed but no go. I know my setup "works" because the Melee Mover mod is in the /mods directory and has its own folder like this mod does. Neither my current flamers nor the ones in the store are different. Not sure why.
Edit: Never mind, it works. I had to re-inject the BTML file again from that mini-update from a few days ago (1.1.1 or whatever). Thank you so much for this!!
no prob. yeah, i've had to re-inject mine as well. enjoy, i also forgot to note that 1.1 even nerfed the built-in ammo down from 6 to FOUR (!!) so this mod should actually be called "Sext Flamer Ammo" now, but... lol
They apparently did that due to multiplayer reasons but it's completely ridiculous in singleplayer (plus it makes no sense given the lore) so mod away!
