I bought BT recently and noticed that most mods doesn't work. So I tryed to fix that mod and I have some result. I don't know if all features work properly. I have never play before. So feedbacks are welcome.
I hope some constructive critique is ok. I'm using RogueTech, so I'm pretty much "forced" to use this mod as well. I actually like most of it, especially the ECM stuff, even if it sometimes a PITA :) But the newer versions of AIM now introduced this sort of "individual FOW" feature, and this is a huge negative punch to the visual aspect of the game for me.
I know a lot of people like to play this game fast (skipping movements etc.), though I never understood that. For me, on of the greatest aspect of this game is WATCHING the battle. And now, with the individual FOW, this is actually destroyed. Evertime the enemy moves, it moves in the complete complete dark, or at least night without headlight.
I understand, the player isn't supposed to see the enemys line of sight, and the enemy can't see ours. Technically that's fine, if it's for hit calculation. But please consider removing this from the visual aspect of the game, it takes away more then 30% of the visual and graphically beauty this game has has to over, without adding to the gameplay, in fact it's making it unrealistic. Because even more annoying is, that the game even plays the enemy turn in the dark, while he is standing right next to my units, so I should actually be able to see it. Same for the battle camera. It switched to show my unit while it get's hit, and this view is played in the dark too, because it's the enemies turn, which is not only pointless but also immersion breaking.
Not sure if that is a bug and will be improved further, but if possible please consider changing that, and decouple the visual battle field from the hit calculation, since I can't see a gameplay improvement from blocking out game visuals to the player.
Besides that, great mod ! I hope to see this improved further :)
This mod adds a lot of very cool stuff, but for some reason I could never get used to the color pattern for LOS. Purple lines could mean a shot was blocked or possible, and this caused me a few problems so I went back to BTMLColorLOSMod, which I always found intuitive.
Well in checking out your Github, inoticed that not only have you updated for 1.9, but it also stated that that you had deactivated the LOS colors and were recommending use of BTMLColorLOSMod. So I dropped it into Mods, and sure enough I now ai have all the cool shot calculation features, plus intuitive LOS. It's all good!
However, I am actually running this on CEX CE 1.8.1(I'm not upgrading to 1.9 yet), so I am wondering if there are any conflicts or problems running your 1.9 version on the older 1.8 framework?
