Start with the Argo and all the systems in the HBS map unlocked, without the storyline and special scenarios. For people who want the "RogueTech" experience without the full Inner Sphere map and new weapons.
This mod works with the 1.1beta released on 6/18.
Installation
Install BTML and ModTek if you do not have these yet. Extract the "NoCampaign" folder from the rar to "BATTLETECH\Mods\".
General Details
The following json files are changed:
- milestones/milestone_000_cinematic_prologue.json initialize variables
- milestones/milestone_001_characterCreation.json skip the tutorial
- milestones/milestone_003_title_coronation_palace skip the first mission and identify the mod
- milestones/milestone_114_sim_leopard_start.json unlock the map and tweak the starting Argo inventory
- shops/shopdef_Components_base_0.json add double heat sinks to every shop
- simGameConstants/simGameConstants.json 10 contracts available per system, Friendly reputation with everyone
Configuration
You may wish to make the following changes:
- Delete shops/shopdef_Components_base_0.json if you do not want the ability to buy expensive double heat sinks. I added them in because it enables some marginal mech builds and is a money sink.
- Review and change the starting gear in milestones/milestone_114_sim_leopard_start.json . You now have enough jump jets and heat sinks to modify your starting mechs without having to buy them.
Game Play Notes
During the first few months you will need to balance your spending between:
- upgrading the Argo
- buying those sweet sweet double heat sinks
- paying the bills
Additional Recommended Mods
And by "recommended", I mean "this is how I debugged things."
- RandomCampaignStart begin with random mechs and mechwarriors

- DangerBoats start with dangerous single-purpose 'Mech variants focused on MLs, LRMs, SRMs, JJ mobility, and nigh-invulnerable armor
The following mods are UI tweaks which do not impact gameplay
- BetterSorting sort the inventory in the shop to put things you want to buy at top
- ContractSort sort the 10 possible contracts
- CommanderPortraitLoader yay, custom avatars
- BTMLColorLOSMod different LOS lines for indirect vs direct fire
- ExtendedInformation more statistics
- RealHitChance accurate to-hit chances
- CamZoom a higher perspective on the battlefield
The following will impact gameplay. (Obviously, in a way which I like...)
- BasicPanicSystem mechwarriors "punch out" when outnumbered

- PermanentEvasion I modified settings.json so that only lights retain evasion pips
