Hey! I actually made textures that update the German and Japanese flags in BFV, but can't upload to Nexus because of their policies, plus I'm not really working on any BFV stuff atm, but I did give the files to a couple other folks to use in their own projects, so you might see some stuff pop up with them eventually!
Hey there! Good suggestion, but unfortunately it's not possible since the Turning Tides Brits use the same flag as the base UK faction, plus the Gallipoli faction represents multiple elements of the British Empire as a whole, so I personally think the regular Union Jack is more appropriate, but I appreciate the feedback, thanks!
How do you install this? Also, is there any chance you can give me a brief rundown of how you managed to do this? I'd love to alter some of the flags myself if it's possible. I have frosty mod editor, I just have no idea where or how to find the flag textures and change them. Searching through all of Bf1's texture files has been a pain in the ass, I can't find the flags anywhere Thank you
Hey! So I assume you're the same guy from all the Discord servers asking about flag locations, in which case, as I said there, I can't really help since my PC is currently broken :/
As for installation, it's really easy, just install Frosty Mod Manager and drag the fbmod into your BF1 profile then launch the game from there. Super simple.
Sorry I can't help with the flags, but I hope you get it sorted!
Could you replace the Russian Empire flag with the normal Russian Tricolor? That way it represents Russian Empire against the Austro-Hungarians and the White Army against the Red Army? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Russian_flags#/media/File:Flag_of_Russia.svg
Speaking of which, could you replace the horrible fictional Red Army flag with the first flag of the Russian SFSR? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Russian_flags#/media/File:Flag_of_the_Russian_Soviet_Federative_Socialist_Republic_(1918%E2%80%931925).svg
Make sure you're using the latest version of Frosty (One of the beta builds for 1.0.6.0) since that's the version this mod is made for. That should hopefully sort it out!
Thanks for the help, it works now. I have another request, I'm hoping someone on the nexus will make a mod that converts the factions in the base game to that of the Southern Victory series by Harry Turtledove. Basically, it's an alt-history book series about what if the CSA remained independent in the American Civil War. The CSA is allied with Russia, Britain, and France. While the USA is allied with Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. I was wondering if you could add CS and US flags into the game just to generate interest?
Most of the battles in multiplayer take place in 1918, and the war in SV ends in 1917. By this point, the US would have this flag because they retook several states that made the number of stars to 36. Maybe replace the vanilla German flag for this US flag. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_flags_of_the_United_States#/media/File:Flag_of_the_United_States_(1865%E2%80%931867).svg
The CS is interesting because you have two options. You can either use the national flag. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_of_the_Confederate_States_of_America#/media/File:Flag_of_the_Confederate_States_of_America_(1861%E2%80%931863).svg Or you can use the battle flag. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_display_of_the_Confederate_battle_flag#/media/File:Confederate_Rebel_Flag.svg Technically, neither of the ones I've linked are accurate to the lore. Both would have 16 stars instead of 13. The battle flag would have had 4 stars on each side of the X with no star in the center. The national flag would have 16 stars in a circle just like the real one. You could replace the British flag with either CS flag.
I can't get this mod to work with Frosty 1.0.6.0 Alpha 5. The flags are all in the mods folder but they don't show up on the list, and trying to add them again gives me a message saying they're already in the mods folder before the mod manager just crashes altogether.
Delete the files from your mods folder, then unzip the file and drag the fbmod files into Frosty Mod manager directly, then you should be able to activate them from there.
If that doesn't solve the issue then I can't really think of what might be causing it :/
