Like shuffling talent sets between all backgrounds, spreading unused talents, decreasing chances of oversaturated ones, figuring out what else would suit different backgrounds - such stuff.
Oh, wow. Just rolled a merc with three weapon specialisations. Cool. Also, I am just curious, why did murderer get default duelist? Wasn't this background supposed to be accidental killer rather then proficient combat expert?
I'm not super sure about theme. I just know he has a really bad negative morale event, and his skills aren't actually that great to make up for it. As a rare background that's murdered a dude I figured it would make for some interesting gameplay to have a guy with a negative event have a niche as a duelist.
Also, what background was the 3x weapon spec? That's super lucky. Most weapon spec chances are <5%. :)
I think being one of the chosen few backgrounds with innate buff (extra headshot chance) and dirt cheap, but whatever. That was "sellsword" who could use axe, hammer and cleaver. Not exactly useful set, but pretty cool. Also, 5%? Are militia higher then that? They seem to have spear or polearm plenty often.
This mod messes up with the availability of perks by lvl, right?
I'm using it, and my lvl 4 Hedge Knight came with fearsome enabled, when he leveled to lvl 5, I had all perks available to choose, when I should have something around weapons mastery only available.
Also, in the spreadsheet you made, the Hedge Knight may only have a chance at Fearsome, but mine started with Fearsome, Hold Out and Relentless. Is that right? Or is something wrong?
Are you saying that he leveled up, and then the whole perk tree became available? They might have changed some base code that my mod hooks onto then. This was an issue that was happening in very early versions and I'm surprised that you are getting it again; I thought I had fixed this and some of my playtesters had confirmed the fix.
I was using the most updated version yes, but seems like you released another update today, right?
Gonna download it now(I was having the same issue not being able to enter towns, just as the comment above). But yes, "Are you saying that he leveled up, and then the whole perk tree became available?", that was the problem, not a REALLY big one, sure, I could just do the math and keep lvling only perks I should be able to, but you know, thought I should share it.
Anyways, gonna download the updated file now, and not sure if I'll be able to confirm if its resolved or not, but, thanks for the reply!
Glad you are enjoying them! I thought I had squashed this completely but I guess in some sneaky cases it will show up. I hope this doesn't ruin the experience for you. :)
I checked around a bit, the not being able to enter should definitely be fixed. The one you were running into I don't know for sure. :(
The bug with unlocked perk tree occurs only when character level is set manually after he is initialized, like it is in Lone Wolf starting scenario. I had the same problem with my Lone Wolf Ranger scenario at some point.
Another problem with such characters like in Lone Wolf is the Gifted perk - it just doesn't seem to work correctly when the character's level is set manually after unlocking the perk.
Yep, you have correctly identified it. The fix is currently on a backlog, the chances of gifted rolling is only 4% so I don't foresee it being an enormous issue
This mod is simple and great. I mean, one might think this is one of those mods that make game easier (well, it does to a degree), but it does not break the immersion and enriches gameplay with both distinction of backgrounds benefits and variety of build options. Well, you still can't have "master of all weapons" though since there is no such background in the game ) Except probably some of vanilla companions by description if I remember correctly. I think making it mostly RNG dependant made mod more natural.
First of all. Thank you for the mod and your work,
For some odd reason i have problems getting into towns/citys/keeps with your mod enabled since you updated to norhtern dlc. You click on the town it just not open. If i do a quicksave and reload it will open most of the time.
Used and will use the older version (april) of the mod with the nothern dlc since it works fine. But i would prefer to use the update since you fixed other bugs.
I am not 100% sure (how could one) that the problem is not on my end. To prevent conflicts with other mods i tried (a few hours) to turn all mods off/on and so on. But even only your mod enabled i have this strange behavoir. So it seams to me that the mod is the reason for my problem. I wonder if i am the only one having this problem or if anyone knows a solution.
Thanks for bringing this up. This is a known issue that I am trying to fix. When you reload it should all work as intended. If you run into this bug again could you let me know what backgrounds are in the city?

I mean, I could, probably, hijack it on my own, but there is no sense of wonder in that.
