Really great mod adding extra stars to hired battle brothers is really great, makes it much easier to find new brothers when playing with a bunch of difficulty increase mods and having a bunch of them dying and you still end up hiring tons of trash
If you set it to N you will receive an extra perk each Nth level, starting from 1+N, but not after veteran level. I.e. Say nth set to 3 and Veteran Level is 11 (default) you will get extra perks on levels 4, 7 and 10.

Thank you for the explanation, I also believe I figured out what I did wrong, I had set the settings in the main menu of the game, but didn't change them correctly when starting a new company, so the settings didn't carry over. I tried it again on a new save and it seems to work just fine.

Excluded talents - every background has excluded talents, i.e. assassin will never have start in hp, stamina, ranged def or resolve. Since you have 4 more attrs available and only 3 talents per bro in vanilla this works, actually making much better change assassin getting both matk and mdef. But with Bro Studio you can get more talents so you might be limited with these excludes, thus this settings.
Stupid Mode - if random rolls you bad or so-so trait then you roll again even if number of extra traits is reached. E.g. say you set 1 extra good or so-so trait and a number of extra traits to 1. Then random rolls you drunkard, which is so-so, your limit of 1 is reached but since you have stupid mode you will get one more roll. It is rolled again and you get Huge, which is also a so-so trait. This means you now need to compensate 2 so-so traits, so you get at least 2 more rolls. Let's say you get Iron Lungs and Brave, which are both good. So you are done receiving those 4.
Would you add a "guaranteed" chance to get more than +1 attributes past the veteran level? I switched from Ultra Bros to this, and found it much more useful, but it lacks this one feature that Ultra Bros had that I kinda miss.
Don't really have time to devote to BB mods now, but if by "guaranteed chance" you mean that all attrs will receive at least +2 on veteran levels you may just change line 152 in `bro_studio/attrs.nut` to have `2 + ...` instead of `1 + ...`.
Another great mod but I have a question about the additional traits. Are they completely random or dependent on the background? So can a deserter become brave because of this mod?
If it helps anyone, I had also worked on a simple mod (_addTraits in player.nut) that increased the maximum number of traits. Traits were then dependent on the background but you couldn't set whether the additional traits would be good or bad. As far as I can remember
