There's more: you will now find new buttons in the perktree menu. Clicking the right one will open an all new menu to save and load perk builds. This is mostly meant to enhance other mods, such as Legends + PTR which add a lot of perks.
A 'Perk Build' is a collection of planned perks, so perks that have the green border around them. The idea of this mod is that you can have a collection of these perk builds, to easily plan new brothers, try out different things, or just share them with other people.
On the right part of the screen, you will see which perks are currently planned for this character. You can save these perks as a new "Perk Build". Doing so will add them to the list below. They can then be applied to another brother, or exported as a string to your clipboard (aka copypaste).
The perks in the list will be coloured if the currently selected brother already has them, and greyed out otherwise. If you're using Legends, perks that area missing in the perk tree of the current brother will have a red overlay.
"Export Build" can be used to get a snapshot of the currently planned perks of the selected character, without having to save them as a build. Likewise, "Apply build" can use such a snapshot and apply it to a character.
The "Override planned perks" toggle can be useful if you have multiple smaller perk builds. You might have a "Init" build, for brothers with high init, that only plans "Dodge, Overwhelm, Relentless". If you disable the toggle and then apply such a build, all other planned perks will remain.
Builds are saved between campaigns by using the MSU persistent data system. You can turn this behaviour off in the mod settings.
Known issues:
The input fields are rather wonky. ctrl+v to paste your clipboard works, but will enter the text many times. Thus, use the 'paste clipboard' button.
If using legends, you'll have a known issue of tooltips not appearing if the current character does not have these perks (due to dynamic perks). The next legends update should fix that.
How to use:
-download the file and place it into \Battle Brothers\data\ without unzipping.
-can be added to an ongoing campaign
-you'll need modding script hooks v19+ (Legends has it integrated)
