Soooo I started out making a sampler of all the pick-up-able chests/bags/barrels/etc., and then I started adding in coffins, bookcases, etc. They have somewhat generic names, describing the object, not what you'd use it for BUT they also come with a tutorial on how to re-name them to whatever you want:
I swear, for someone who absolutely MUST place EVERY looted item in the correct bag/chest/pouch RIGHT the MOMENT i loot it ... your mod is a GODSEND !! Thank you SO VERY much dude !!
P.S. I > Could you guide me to the tools/guide you used to create this ? I really want some MORE bags/chests/containers now, and wish to create my own.
P.S. II > Is it too complicated to have them auto-sort ? I'm not complaining at ALL, but I remember that there was another mod that had the auto-sort feature. For example, whenever I wanna chuck a javelin or a dagger at an enemy, I have to take it OUT of the weapons chest and place it out in the inventory, and only then does the throw item drop-down show it as an option. It's not a big bother, honestly, but I was curious to know so thought might as well ask the expert :P
Nevertheless, Thank you SO much for keeping the best and the ONLY inventory sorting mod for BG3 !!
I didn't use any existing tools or guides, beyond unpacking BagsBagsBags and trial-and-error edits. Bags of Sorting is a tool I've seen people use, so maybe that will work for you? (I struggled with it, so ymmv.)
OK I made a template & instruction set that should be able to get you a set of custom-named bags. It will require a *small* amount of text-editing in the files, and you'll need a tool to package the mod back up into a .pak file. (I use ShinyHobo's BG3 Modder's Multitool.)
If you can do image-editing, you might be able to make custom icons & tooltips. If not, what I did was make a bunch of different type bags with different icons, so you can pick the icons you want to use.
I'd like to get some people to try it out before loading it as a new mod, so let me know if you'd like to try!
OK I actually did make the tutorial for making custom-named bags (and a huge set of bags to go with it.) A Bag With a View - I especially formatted the files to be as simple as possible to edit. I'm planning on doing that with this mod, too, so it can be edited easier.
Yes, I've been using it on Patch 7 for over a week and haven't had any problems. Some objects don't appear in e..g throw menus if they're buried in bags, but that's a general issue with containers afaik.
Unfortunately, I had trouble with patch 7 on my own game, and I ended up deleting everything, including my saved games, and reinstalling from scratch.
What that means is, while I can confirm that this mod works for me with patch 7, I haven't been able to attempt to use previously saved games to see if anything goes wrong.
I would love any feedback from someone continuing a game after installing patch 7!
Hi! Love the new bags, but there's a small problem for me: I'm using 2.1 version (no vendors) alone and for some reason, the bag of unspeakable horrors doesn't work like a bag. Like there's no option to open it, as the game treats it like usual object without inventory.
Thank you for your reply anyway! This is how it looks in game - 1, 2 for me, if it's any use xD I think there's probably something wrong with my load order, as I'm new to these things, but It'll try to find it out on my end.
Since I'm having the same issue, maybe we should compare load orders because there might be a different mod causing the issue. Are you finding any ribcage containers in the game itself?
Are you using Ghastly Ghouls - Undead Races? I just figured out from testing that that one changes the ribcage container to a static object. For myself, I changed the entry in the files to the static version, and it fixed both the ribcage container and the Unspeakable Horrors from this mod. No idea if I broke Ghouls or not, but my file wouldn't load without it.
I'm not sure if it's something else installed since I didn't find any container ribcages in the previous run, either, but on starting a new game and updating to the new version the Unspeakable Horrors bag is just an item and not a bag.
Blarg, it looks like some other people have this problem. Not sure if it's working for anyone or not? I have an idea that might help, I'll try it. (I wish I knew what caused it, so I can test it myself, but it always works as a container for me...)
Was looking for a bag mod and I decided to go with yours because of the huge variety of containers and aaaaaa they're so cute?! I like that the icons blend well with the vanilla stuff too, so it doesn't stick out much. The personalised bags/containers for the companions are a nice touch too :) Thank you so much for sharing!
So bit of an odd issue with uninstalling the version 1 of this mod. I'm able to remove version 2 with mod uninstaller but ver 1 doesn't even register when parsing the mods.
Edit: I found a work around with the tutorial chest. I switched from the vendors version to the non-vendors version and then dropped all the bags in the tutorial chest after summoning and let it despawn. That successfully removed the bags from my save... I did initially try aethers obliterate on them but apparently the bags are indestructible lol. The inner containers can still be destroyed though.

My load order is Here
The bags start empty. They aren't full of free items to start with, they are for you to organize your inventory. You put things in them.
