Hi there! This mod looks really interesting and I'd love to use it, but unfortunately I play on Steam Deck and have to install my mods manually. Is there any way you could add the pak info into a json? Or just reply to this comment with the file name, folder name, and UUID? Either would be super appreciated! <3
i wish the author would come back and update this mod, incredible fun and it opens so many new options for character builds
Patch 7: this mod worked fine besides some items like "gives extra hp or something if you have deity x", tried the one for Lolth on Minthara and it didnt do anything. i was halfway through act 2 and didnt have any other issues
Patch 8: not completely broken for now but all new items, once they are equipped, have a missing tooltip and icon like this: https://imgur.com/a/r83qH0g didnt look like this prior to Patch 8 and i didnt install any new mods so im not sure if its actually another mod conflicting or just the patch update
if anyone got an idea how to fix this myself, much appreciated!
Well, hello there 👋 Bugfixing is officially underway! Since I'm not on Patch 8 yet though, I can't really say why the tooltips suddenly broke like that. Do you also have any of these mods installed:
ETA: Okay, scratch that; according to Magnetuning and Aimryax here, Patch 8 broke the tooltips for equipped instruments (which all trinkets are under the hood). No fix that I can find so likely you will have to wait on Larian. 😞
Not really providing a solution to the broken tooltips. But I noticed that it displays the correct tooltip if you just unequip it. And the bonus is still provided when equipped. So its a slight annoyance with the broken tooltip when quipped.
Scuttlebutt tells me this is most likely something Larian broke on their end with Patch 8. This isn't the only mod page I've seen bug reports on regarding missing tooltips for modded assets since the patch. If modders can't figure out a way to fix it, it may ultimately be something Larian is going to have to address on their own since they seem to have created the problem.
I think I can confirm that this is a patch 8 issue... since I've actually cleared up everything and installed fresh and started a brand new run to test this out.. I hope Larian fix it soon.. my OCD drives me crazy since I love this mod so much. I can't play the game w/o it.. yet as mentioned here, the buffs are still applied.. The only ones I've notice that had some small issues for me where the increasing carrying capacity by 250%... the 500% one worked fine ...
The mod was working fine for me just days ago but now all the items from this mod are classed as "Helmets" and they're all also just common items rather than trinkets and the different rarity levels as shown in the mod example pictures; now they don't show up/aren't able to be equipped in the musical instruments slot. I don't know if the recent hotfix has anything to do with it but has anyone else experienced the same? I was very interested in using this mod and the variety provided. Is it safe to uninstall mid-playthrough?
I found a discussion here about Patch 8 breaking mods with Osiris scripting/game data overrides in them. Ariefel says there:
This is mostly for the benefit of anyone else reading this with a similar issue, but if you have ever installed the toolkit (even if you don't actively use it, or haven't started up in months) you'll still need to update it to patch 8 too, then launch both the tk and BG3 at least once. Otherwise the compilation for any mods that require Osiris breaks in patch 8.
It was thanks to jerinski and LostSoul who figured this out (I think the toolkit DLC and osiris compiliation was a known one from patch 8 stress test, but can be difficult to spot as a cause). There might also be other environment factors that break Osiris compilation for mods e.g. the presence of a renamed ModFixer file was another cause in the past.
Discordant Instruments has a variant of ModFixer included, so maybe that could be the cause? (There is scripting included, but done with ScriptExtender and Khonsu.) If you've already updated the toolkit to Patch 8 or don't have it installed, maybe try removing the ModFixer.
You'll have to unpack Discordant Instruments (article here if you don't know how to unpack) and then go to JWL_DiscordantInstruments > Mods > JWL_DiscordantInstruments and delete the 'Story' folder. Then repack the mod and reinstall it and see if your saves will load.
Is it possible to have an optional file or version where items do not grant any bonuses to Attack Rolls, AC, Saving Throws or Spell Save DC for the wearer, as a more balanced alternative?
The numerical bonuses are just way too high for me personally especially since it opens up a whole new gear slot which stacks with all existing itemization.
I could always avoid using items with these bonuses but there's a good few I'd like to play with their other effects that I just can't let myself without making the game too easy. The ability score bonuses are also a little broken but not nearly as jarring and much more avoidable.
Otherwise I think this mod is fantastic, I love it!
IKR, one of the most inventive item collections effect-wise. I've looked at a lot of various items collections on the nexus and to most of them my reactions were among the lines of: 1) Clutter, why would I want those extra entries in my game's data? Pass, 2) Yeah those would just make my party stronger than it'd be in vanilla, and they aren't even fun. Pass. 3) Same as above yet a few of them are fun, but still pass, since it's still mostly a power jump.
This one might be a power jump but almost all of those were fun and inventive items. Those were the kind of things worth seeking a difficulty counter-balance for if needed.
Great mod. It adds a lot of flavour and utility to an otherwise empty slot. I think The Compendium of Fugitive Techniques" doesn't apply the +4 bonuses to a level 11 fighter. It doesn't seem to work on my end.

- ImpUI (slim or regular)?
- Better Inventory UI?
- Better Tooltips?

Can confirm this mod won't let me load the game. New saves, existing ones, doesn't matter, it gets stuck at 100%.
Damn, I love this mod. Really hope it gets updated soon! 😭
