Did you manage to edit the textures? Could you share? Unfortunately I don't know a thing about modding this game yet, and I have been waiting for a mod like this to continue playing the game :/
The comments section here isn't the most optimal place to give a tutorial on how to start modding, but here's some basics: 1) The BG3 wiki on how to start creating mods. 2) Shiny Hobo's multitool so you can unpack and re-pack mods. 3) For editing textures, Gimp and Blender are good and free tools to start with. For blender, I personally use version 3.6 since I use some plugins that haven't been updated for 4.0 yet. 4) For additional help, Larian's discord does have a modding community you can reach out to
