. I love the long hair but want his white color back! / I want black hair and/or eyebrows but I want to keep his original hair / etc I used to tell people how to do this manually but there were so many requests I decided to make a modular version. Just download the modular mod under optional files INSTEAD of the main mod, the instructions inside should tell you how to get the result you want. The modular version is currently untested so let me know if you run into any issues.
The mod worked but the portrait didn't change / I uninstalled the mod but his portrait still shows the black hair... My mod doesn't touch portraits at all. Other users have reported that portraits self-update after Astarion levels up, so just wait for his next level up and it will fix itself. If your Astarion is already max level, forcing a level-up with Withers may do the trick, but I haven't tested it. If that isn't the case, I don't know how to help, sorry.
Is this mod compatible with [...]? My mod should be compatible with any changes in textures or head models for Astarion. It won't be compatible with anything that alters his colors, including eyes, hair, eyelashes, eyebrows and a long etc, but it won't break your game, it just means that whichever mod you install LAST will be the one choosing the colors for your Astarion, while the hairstyle change will work just fine. So just choose which color you prefer and install that mod last. Also keep in mind that my mod has full permissions to be altered so if either you or the author for the other mod want to make a compatibility patch, it's fully allowed ^^
I'm running into an issue. I've tried to answer all help requests I've gotten, and I will continue to do so, so feel free to post any issue you find. However, I'm a noob at this so I may not know how to fix it. I'm also not logging into Nexus often so it may take me a while to see your comment. As such, I recommend you also check out other comments in case someone had a similar issue that has already been solved!
Can you add new color files? I could be persuaded, but with classes about to start, I can't make any promises.
Can you add new hairstyle options? Very unlikely that I'll add new hairstyles in the foreseeable future. However, with my step by step guide under miscellaneous, you may be able to do it yourself! Good luck <3
The original version of this mod made the hair look weird and kind of bald during certain cutscenes, including many romance related ones. I uploaded the fixed version but some people were reporting the bug regardless. I just reuploaded the files that I'm personally using, in case I made a mistake last time. Installation is the same, just drag to your Baldur's Gate 3 installation folder and let it replace everything. If it still doesn't work, I don't know how to provide support since it works on my end so I can't see the issue. Sorry :(
Thank you SO SO much for including how you did this. I've been wanting to make a short version for Astarion that is a current hair model too - so I'm hoping I can pull this off. Thank you again. I'll update you when I'm able to do it!
Patch 5 is just fun again. Everytime I load the Mod and Astarion gets long hair, Gale gets invisible in the Epilogue Camp. Any suggestions? Had the mod loaded before the patch and everything was fine. I only have this mod and "younger Astarion".
I've been having the invisible Gale problem and I didn't know what was causing it. I have a lot more mods installed than this though, did you ever end up fixing it?
I feel like an idiot because i should have kept my old files before merging the data folders. I love the mod, but I want to revert back to the original version. What specific files do we need to get rid of in order to do this. I previewed the file contents but cant seem to find the files it refers to. Otherwise, if i take out the public and generated files the game becomes unplayable. Please help
If so i need to know which of the files you installed. black hair/black eyebrows, white hair/white eyebrows, white hair/black eyebrows or the long hair?
The instructions inside tell you to go to a youtube video that now is marked as private, so there's no way of knowing how to do this if you are suppose to be following along with that video.
go to steam, right click on the game, select properties, installed data and search. You'll see the "Data" folder. open it. You should see a "Public" folder and a "Generated" Folder. Depending on what type of files you have installed you can also just have the Public folder (if you only chose the color. Then simply remove the files that are connected to this mod. If you have other mods installed that are also in public or generated folder then you need to be cautious
Which one did you install exactly? black hair with black eyebrows, white hair with white eyebrows, white hair with black eyebrows, or the long hair? I have my folders always in a seperate folder so i can see which file is connected to what
