CHANGES 1.1 (textures) - added 20 more generated textures for loading screens. 1.2 (hints) - fixed few typos and mistakes in both versions of hints. added another collection of textures, from game artbook this time, 47 overall (kudos to AlienWithABox for a suggestion). 1.22 (hints) - Chinese localization added (translated by q345593023). 1.24 (hints) - Liareth's edits added (english version of lore tidbits). 1.2 (textures) - 11 more AI-generated textures added. 1.25 (hints) - more text fixes (kudos to OrionFrost). 1.3 (hints) - added Spanish localization of Lore Tidbits by hawk333. 1.31 - updates textures-related paks for Patch #4. 1.5 - major update of AI screens: 2 screens removed, 22 added, all 80 were upscaled (x4) then. should look much better on 4k screens now. 1.51 - updated all for patch #5/HF #12. due to how they make replacing original textures names impossible now, got to rename textures, so you need to re-install everything. 1.52 - added 16x9 Fullscreen subversions (.pak + textures). it removes vignette and screen downscaling and moves hints and loading data over the textures. plus it has 15 more screens. made on request. you can use it with any other aspect ratio, but it won't look as good as original approach for those ARs. 1.52 (hints) - added German localization (kudos to Moondragon85 for the translation). 1.55 (loading screens) - 47 artbook textures upscaled (kudos to UniverseGd), 13 more added (upscaled too), new screens listed in the .pak. To update install both new artbook textures and artbook .pak. All artbook textures rights belong to Larian Studios and Wizards of the Coast. 1.6 (AI loading screens) - 13 new screens added (MJ v6), textures package is the same for default vignetted version of the mod (Any Aspect Ration version) and for 16:9 fullscreen version (no vignette, uses whole screen, hints over textures) now. AI package has 106 textures now. mind, please, that mod names changed (both were "New Loading Screens" previously which is confusing). 1.5.6 - updated for Patch 7. Universal AI version and hints with quotes won't be supported anymore. Installation instruction were simplified. 1.5.7 - added 13 vanilla upscaled screens (including new one from Patch 7) and 6 screens with vinyl art by Magdalena Katanska.
NOTES If you don't like AI content here, feel free to move on. Attempts to debate or moralize on the subject may result in a block.
I've noticed what potentially may be a new issue on patch 8. With all mods disabled (yes I know the individual Hints and Loading Screens mods will work disabled) hints only display the first randomized hint. Once enough time has passed on a loading screen for the hint to cycle to a new one, the text disappears and no new text is displayed. I tried uninstalling Better Hints (by deleting it via IGMM), closing the game, restarting the game to ensure it's gone, closing the game, readding the mod file to the folder, and opening the game again. This process did not seem to fix the issue. The mod still works, but only shows one randomized hint, then nothing for the rest of the duration of a loading screen.
Hope this is enough explanation to determine if it's a bug or user error.
If you have other mods doing similar things they might require the same setup

If you have additional mods that change the opening larian splash screen (this mod does that and much more) you first see when turning on the game you may need to keep that file in your mods folder and switch it *off* in the in game manager.
Do the same set up for the other mod, if it works keep both mods if it don't chose this one and retire the other.
Basically set up both mods as you would this one with this mod loading last.
I am not an expert or what not this is just what worked for me with trial and error to get a way too large load order to play nice
I like the majority of the screens on the pics. [insert a thumbs up gif here or sumfin'] But judging from the hints on the pics, I have to ask - are they all short description of the divine and their worshippers or is there some general and historic lore there as well. I'm asking cus my FR knowledge could use some more of the later but not of the former. Also dunno how good of an idea it is from the technical side, but on the user side it might be worth it to keep the lore hints and the BG2 quotes as two separate files. You know, fundamentally different content and all. Just throwing it here on the off chance that it didn't cross your mind, not trying to be pushy or anything.
Pavelk, I'm extremely grateful for the abundance and efforts of your mods. I have previous experience using your mods for Palworld and was delighted to see your work for Baldur's Gate 3 as well. I've already committed to using just about all of your "Better" mods and came to Nexus to see if anything unofficial suited my tastes. I was severely disappointed upon realizing the "new loading screens" titular to this mod are created with the use of AI. As a mod creator, you often vouch for the importance of recognizing how much work, time, and love goes into mod creation, but AI-usage completely disregards the likewise necessary respect of artists. There are countless first-hand accounts of how harmful AI is; it takes away credit and resources from real artists, steals the work of people who have dedicated their lives to their craft. Just as you wouldn't approve of someone stealing your code and publishing it as their own work, you should come to understand how using AI, even in a nonprofit scenario such as this, feeds into a much larger issue of theft that is costing many people their livelihoods.
I will continue to use your mods because of the dedication put into creating and maintaining them. However, I truly hope AI doesn't become a part of that creation process. The best step you could take is removing the AI generated images from this mod, keeping only the modified images from the artbook, which at the very least have a clear source. It isn't necessary, and I'm sure many people will use this mod regardless, but it would show a level of compassion you expect from your fellow modders and be very, very appreciated.
edit: being called manipulative whilst trying to be informative and genuine really stung. i'd argue a level of immaturity in that kind of response rather than a simple "i support using ai". i know to stay clear of your work, now.
firstly, stop being manipulative ("Just as you wouldn't approve of someone stealing your code", "The best step you could take is removing") or passive-aggressive ("I will continue to use your mods because of the dedication put into creating and maintaining them. However,") if you want me to take your words seriously.
secondly, it was discussed here many times. if author of piece clearly used by AI here is against using it, I will remove respective screen. that's how people solve theft cases, that's what I do when someone steal my code. otherwise, no point to moralize here about AI matters, its a free mod and there is alternative in a form of official art package.
now, if you don't mind, I have things to mod in a breaks between rocket shellings in my place.

Ugh, this dick is annoying me and I can't even get my satisfaction for telling 'em as much, since their account is closed. You preach your own ideas like they're the ultimate truth carefully hiding all the holes you've yourself seen in your logic behind overblown wordplay and then accuse people of immaturity when they don't buy it.
You know what's really immature? Taking up an arguable position and carrying it as if you had already won all the debates from here till the kingdom comes. It's basically the level of "la-la-la-I-can't-hear-you-over-the-sound-of-how-right-I-am" except with pretence of decorum on the tin. Disgusting.
My apologies for not adding anything productive to the discussion. Just ... consider this a result of a failed discipline check, mkay?
This mod breaks all mods whenever I add it to my load order. I am using vortex. I tested other loading screen mods and it does the same thing. Any help please? This mod is amazing
Since patch 7 i cant find a folder "\Game\GUI\Assets\LoadingScreen" in my BG3 folder. It all works fine, but i wanted to delete some of the pictures. Any idea if it is a mistake from my side or do you have any solutions for it?
Yep, I'm also having problems finding them, I've found them before the patch, idk if the patch is related. I really cannot find the screen folder anywhere.
So I'm on the latest versions of both game and mod and noticed that when I boot up the game, both the hint and loading screens are always the same, then when I get to loading a save it works fine, but the initial boot up of the game itself are always the same three (#30, 31 and 66, the ugly bard, the red city and they blue/ice themed one with the woman).... not sure if I'm explaining it right sorry xD
I had an idea, you should consider adding the official Baldur's Gate Magic the Gathering card artwork's to the pool, if you can. It's all gorgeous, amazing, and more loading screens is always better. So many to pick from, check them out and consider adding a few of them to the mod :D
By the way, there are like hundreds to choose from as well! Loading screens for days! Tracking down the HD art shouldnt be too tough since these are official products
