About this mod

This mod lets you stay in the sneak stance after doing a sneak attack. There are several versions available, some of them require a stealth check with varying degrees of difficulty or a reaction point or both to stay hidden. There is also a version where staying hidden is free.

To be clear this mod doesn't let you hide after a sneak attack if you weren't already hiding while using it. Basically with this mod you can just prevent hiding from being removed by sneak attack.

The DC for the stealth check is based on the target's "Passive Perception" value which is also used for enemies detecting you while you're hiding in their line of sight. It's equal to 10+wisdom modifier+proficiency bonus(if they have proficiency in perception). Rogues can clear this check fairly easily, because they get so many bonuses to stealth checks so for a slightly more balanced experience I added extra versions that add a +5 or a +10 to the DC respectively.

Something worth noting is that in the vanilla game mechanics when you attack enemies outside of combat it will sometimes do a stealth check which will determine if you are seen. So if you use one of the versions that has the added stealth check for sneak attacks, then you will usually have to clear 2 stealth checks when attacking outside of combat. I'm not entirely sure how exactly the vanilla stealth check works though, but it's something I noticed while testing this.

UPDATE: This mod now also functions when using sneak attacks as a reaction, but the way it works warrants some explanation. It might seem a bit needlessly convoluted, but I had some difficulty getting these things working the way I wanted. Basically the mod now adds several different reactions for staying hidden:

Stay Hidden After Sneak Attack Weapon Action:
This is used when you perform a sneak attack using a weapon action (by clicking the sneak attack icon on your hotbar). It triggers before your sneak attack and you can activate it to stay hidden.

Sneak Attack (Hidden):
This is triggered when you're doing a regular weapon attack and it's basically an alternate version of your regular sneak attack reaction. To stay hidden you use this to perform a sneak attack instead of using the vanilla sneak attack reaction.

IMPORTANT: You should keep both the vanilla sneak attack reactions and the hidden ones enabled in case you're also using sneak attack without hiding. The hidden sneak attack is only triggered when you are actually hiding (so that you don't waste a reaction point and so that there's no unnecessary stealth check popping up on the screen) so having the vanilla reactions enabled simultaneously still allows you to perform a regular sneak attack when needed. Although one exception to this is in the version of this mod that doesn't have a stealth check or reaction cost, in this version the hidden sneak attack actually can also trigger while not hiding, because without the hiding it acts basically identically to the regular sneak attack.

You can also set the reactions to ask you before using them which will let you choose whatever reaction you wanna use, but there is an issue with ranged attacks where doing this will sometimes cause your sneaking status to be removed prematurely regardless of what you will choose. So with ranged attacks it's recommended to have the reactions trigger automatically. I don't really know how to fix this issue and at this point I'm not really planning to look into it any further as I'd rather work on other mods. From my testing it is a bit random though as sometimes I've actually had the ranged attacks work just fine multiple times with the ask toggled on and other times it barely works at all. But generally I'd recommend setting it to automatic.

Sneak Attack (Hidden) (Critical Hit)
Works the same way as the former reaction, but only triggers for critical hits.

Hiding Sneak Attack Thrown Helper (Keep this enabled)
Just keep this one enabled to trigger automatically, should be set like that by default so you don't need to touch it. I would have preferred to make this one hidden entirely, but couldn't get a better solution working so it's listed as a reaction. Its purpose is just to prevent your hidden status from removed prematurely when doing a throwing attack (which can also trigger the sneak attack reaction).
