Once Halsin is acquired, you can ask if he is comfortable at camp. He says he will miss his books. You can say you have books in camp. This is marked as a flirt, among two other responses that are also flagged as flirts. Arguably, only one of the player's responses is actually flirtatious. As you see, there is no way to escape and no way to avoid initiating the romance here.
Just wanted to show you this in case you want to, and are able to, make a mod to fix it. I sincerely thought Larian had already addressed Halsin's horrible flags.

Bad grammar aside.... This line should not be available at all because at the party, I told him to mingle, and that selection is not flagged as 'flirted with'.
I've had a look at the dialogue tree. It appears that when you select the "At the celebration..." line, no flag is actually being checked. It just checks if you have "exhausted" his dialogue tree at the celebration, which seems to be set regardless.
What I might do, is use the flag in the image you provided and use that for the "At the celebration..." line check and have to set if you flirt with him at the party.
Is there a possibility of adding something along the lines of "weather is weird and open skies are scary" for the Underdark races? I know that if you play a drow, you can tell Shadowhear and Karlach about growing up in Underdark.
really great mod, the kraken response fit my first tav bc of the backstory i constructed but the rest fo my tavs and my durge dont really work with it so this is a great addition to the community. with that said, i understand if astarion's seems too specific bc of the response he gives but itd be really cool to have his added for people who want to roleplay as a vampire and get the same response from halsin. if you'd consider adding that one too i think it'd be really neat :)
