If it's not working for you, just do the following:
Put a NoBless.txt or Whatever.txt file in Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Public\SharedDev\Stats\Generated\Data Write this inside that file:
new entry "BLESS" type "StatusData" data "StatusType" "BOOST" data "DisplayName" "h36db802fg5a60g4685gb019g2f52eba4df93;1" data "Description" "h4db6b7cbg61bag4ea5gbde2gd4325d5f9877;1" data "Icon" "Spell_Enchantment_Bless" data "SoundLoop" "" data "StackId" "BLESS" data "Boosts" "RollBonus(Attack,1d4);RollBonus(SavingThrow,1d4);RollBonus(DeathSavingThrow,1d4)" data "StatusGroups" "SG_RemoveOnRespec" data "StatusEffect" "" data "ManagedStatusEffectType" "Positive" data "ManagedStatusEffectGroup" ""
It's important you 1. DO NOT use the Status_BOOST.txt file name, call it NoBless.txt or Whatever.txt 2. Only overwrite BLESS
Its simpel, just create the folders. For me i had to create the "...\Public\SharedDev\Stats\Generated\Data" path, then put the txt file in it aaaand voilà. It works
Very helpful thank you! Do you or anyone have the display name and description unique identifier string for any other effects, say like the pixie blessing? I accidentally used the bell in act 3 when going through my inventory and now my characters all have that as a permanent buff as long rest does not cancel it. Want to get rid of its visual effect.
I got the permanent bless in the 3rd act for making a statue of my character, truly one of the best perma buffs in the game, but the VFX is annoying as f*#@, thanks for this.
Ya, finally getting beyond tired of the effect decided to google why I had it and discovered it's the statue. Cool to have a perm buff, not cool for effect. Applying the remove effect mod immediately.
I've run into this issue a couple of times. Not sure if it's specifically tied to one (or more) mods, but as far as I've been able to figure it out, it's somehow related to the last patch and hotfix (yeah, hit me with the patch, and again a few days later with the hotfix).
For me, it only affected the active playthrough at the time, but it affected the most recent 12-15 saves (hard, auto, and quick). It did not affect saves in other playthroughs I'm doing, nor if I started a new campaign.
So, my advice: Try uninstalling this (and or the most recently added mods if you added multiples), and try reloading your recent save. If that doesn't work, or before your remove those mods, try loading a save from a different playthrough and/or start a new game and run until you can chat with Lae'zel after the Imp fight. If those other work, you just have to reload an earlier save that doesn't negatively affect your character and redo the last few hours or so of play.
I have a manual solution for those who are having problems with this mod. It involves modifying the games files directly and you should not activate the mod. Basically use ExtractTool to unpack the Patch1.pak (or the latest patch pak that contains the Status_BOOST.txt file) and navigate to Public\Shared\Stats\Generated\Data\Status_BOOST.txt On there, find the 'new entry "BLESS" ' line and edit it as follows:
new entry "BLESS" type "StatusData" data "StatusType" "BOOST" data "DisplayName" "h36db802fg5a60g4685gb019g2f52eba4df93;1" data "Description" "h4db6b7cbg61bag4ea5gbde2gd4325d5f9877;1" data "Icon" "Spell_Enchantment_Bless" data "SoundLoop" "" data "StackId" "BLESS" data "Boosts" "RollBonus(Attack,1d4);RollBonus(SavingThrow,1d4);RollBonus(DeathSavingThrow,1d4)" data "StatusGroups" "SG_RemoveOnRespec" data "StatusEffect" "" data "ManagedStatusEffectType" "Positive" data "ManagedStatusEffectGroup" ""
Note that this process must be done every time Larian updates the game, or atleast check if the new PatchX.pak file contains the Status_BOOST file. If it doesn't, you are good, if it does take that one and repeat the process

Put a NoBless.txt or Whatever.txt file in
Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Public\SharedDev\Stats\Generated\Data
Write this inside that file:
new entry "BLESS"
type "StatusData"

playing stealth with a perma glowing halo ruined my immersion/RP play sooo much

and have it contain only the bless entry, so you'll overwrite just that and not everything (which could lead to error with subsequent patches)
