Amazing art and idea, just curious for fun, are you just multiclassing your drow as 5e, like you are level 4, 2 of mage, 2 of cleric; maybe you have some twics and you this like double-class, like, every level you taking two classes as one? Sorry for flooding, i tried to find some mods for this and im cant do it.
I'm just using the game mechanics and picking the spells which I feel thematically fit for an Arachnomancer. At the moment I'm planning to go 3 levels in Cleric and 9 for Wizard. I've always been "RP comes first" kind of player, so it might not be the strongest build in combat, but it gives you lots of dialogue options and enough spells to have fun. I started with 1 level in Cleric and for the first level up, I picked 1 level in Wizard to open up those dialogue options. I've seen some people multiclassing with Ranger or Druid, but personally I feel like Cleric and Wizard are the best because Arachnomancer are arcane spellcasters and devoted to Lolth.
Cleric: Trickery Domain for some illusion and enchantment which fit very well for a drow. You get: Level 1 - Domain Spells (Disguise Self, Charm Person), Blessing of the Trickster (Action) Level 2 - Invoke Duplicity (Action) Level 3 - Domain Spells (Mirror Image, Pass Without Trace) You also get to pick some cleric spells, like Resist Poison, Bane, Command, Inflict Wounds etc.
Wizard: Conjuration School These are listed by the spell level, not the character level. I'm going to pick a wide variety and as a wizard I get to change my spell setup depending on the situation (for example combat and exploration) Level 1 spells - Spider Familiar, Ray of Sickness, Sleep, Chromatic Orb (can be used as poison), False Life, Enhance Leap and Feather Fall Level 2 spells - Darkness, Web, Misty Step, Blindness, Detect Thoughts, Crown of Madness Level 3 spells - Vampiric Touch, Glyph of Warding, Haste Level 4 spells - Blight Level 5 spells - Cloudkill, Dominate Person, Hold Monster, Planar Binding, Telekinesis
Cantrips Poison Spray, Minor Illusion, Bone Chill, Thaumaturgy, Guidance
Scrolls In addition, I'm planning to learn these spells from scrolls: Speak with Dead, Animal Friendship, Knock etc.
Mods Learn Some or All Wildshapes This is the only mod I'm currently using to make my character feel more like the Arachnomancers from the lore, it adds the Wildshape to all your characters. I'm going to remove it from my companions action bars and use it only on my drow and only pick the spider :)
Excellent, very detailed and interesting, thank you. I really love drow and after your words I just want to play as an arachnomancer. And your choice of spells is more than good, because most drow mages use defensive or combat control magic instead of fireballs xd. Not long ago I found a mod that allows, in this case, the wizard to respond in dialogues as a cleric of Lolth, which may be useful to you. https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1870 Have a nice day and keep doing what you did, because your mods are great ! :)
This is lovely, thank you so much for making it! The design is so cool and a great idea if you're playing as a Lolth-sworn tav! Very glad you found my tutorial useful <3
Thank you so much! Your tutorial was so easy to follow, and the tip for making the scars look more natural by using the existing elements from other scars really helped the process :)
