After patch 2, Feats Extra Extra no longer gives the bonus ASI to featsextra.
If you have a character that already used those ASI bonuses, the game will crash trying to level them up. Go respec them out of those feats for now, and that fixed our crash problem.
I seem to have goofed a bit with some info, redoing this post, pardon.
Edit: It does appear to still be the case as far as I've been able to search in 2025 that this mod is the only one that does this kind of functionality. So I hope you're able to update this, and if not, I hope you'd be okay with passing it on to someone else to maintain it.
It's one of the mods/changes that feels better to me than official 5E rules where you have to choose a feat *or* ASI. (Personally I like the way older editions handled it where feat and ASI picks were separate.) So even if the mod could be considered cheaty, I feel like that version is a QOL change. (At least the Feat +2 ASI option, not higher.)
Yeah patch 7 threw a wrench in my plans since not only did I have to redo things again, but stuff broke in my other mods. Is there really no one else who made a mod like this? It should still work if you don't use the Feats Order from Feats Extra. But it definitely has some issues.
On the first part, that's good to hear you figured it out! On the second, it can? o_o I wasn't expecting that. Doesn't that mean you can also run into that softlock if you pick only ASI increases in vanilla gameplay, too?
I'm unsure if they have or not, since I'm not sure if it's possible to reach it in vanilla gameplay. So I'm happy if you're covering your bases, and also doing compatibility testing with some other mods. That reminds me, would it be possible for this mod to be compatible with "More levels with feats" (mod 670 on Nexus)?
Oh, not at all. It should automatically be compatible since they affect different things. But mods like that are why I'm trying to figure out a way around having capped attributes soft lock you, because with that many feats, you're going to max out.
Oh phew. That's good to hear! And dang, I understand there. Wishing you the best with figuring out that issue! >_< Reminds me of when I first started modding and had to figure out why the thing I changed led to a seemingly completely unrelated thing breaking, and then implementing a fix.
sorry for not explaining - i am getting no ASI improvement to the normal base game feats. - weirdly enough switching version fixed it... i will test a bit further... but it didnt work at first on a new save. like i am not lying, but i will test some more. sorry.
I think Patch 6 has definitely broken something. I've started several new games with different mods, and none of the mods I've tried that add ASI bonuses to vanilla feats are working now.
After experimenting further, I think it might be Feats Extra causing the issue after Patch 6 came out. Try putting BOTH Feats Upgraded and Feats Extra Extra after Feats Extra.
has anyone managed to get it to work (on vortex)? feats extra just updated and before the update, all was well, now its crashing every time i try to level up, i reverted back but no luck. am considering reinstalling the mods for feats
So, the Feats Extra mod doesn't work with this, I have tried everything and it doesn't want to work. I hope there will be an update to this as I want to use both this mod and that
I dunno if there was an update that messed it up or if theres conflicting Mods RN, But im not getting any options for ASIs when choosing feats. seems to be working as if the mod doesnt even exist?
Havent played in a few months so it may not be super recent?
it's been a while since this was updated, and feats extra has added like 20 more feats than it had before (along with absorbing two other feats mods, more feats and feats expanded). i don't mind doing the update myself, but your permissions say to ask before i do so, so is it alright if i do?
hey im using the same mod pak as you any chance you could share your update with me or maybe I can update myself if someone can tell me how to update it or point me to a video tutorial?

What I want to do though is make an option for not taking an ASI, since having all stats at 20 can soft lock you.

This way players can choose the +1 ASI when they want it, but also have the unmodded vanilla options that do not raise their stats.
sadly
