Also persists for ten minutes following a long rest in order to give you a chance to reapply Control Undead if you wish to keep
the creature. If you don't, it'll become hostile.

Didn't work on my end, after a long rest the creature was in my camp, killed my companion before I woke up and a battle ensued. Unfortunately a honour save so I couldn't reload.

Edit: tried it first with a Shadow-Cursed Kar'niss and now with a Death Shepherd. The supposedly ten minutes grace after a long rest doesn't apply and the undead aggro right after you wake up in camp.

Does persist after LR under normal circumstances, but some outside influence could be playing a part. Kar'niss is a toss-up from what I've read, and using it on story NPCs is outside my purview, but be OK with the Death Shepherd. Weird. I don't imagine the shepherd had the shadow curse, did it? What were the circumstances under which the Death Shepherd joined your party? Did it ever switch party members? Anything else happen, like it dying or anything other than being a cool dude?

No, the Death Shepherd wasn't shadow-cursed. I had the Death Shepherd with Gale, I went back to Wilderness, he didn't follow me, I thought maybe it was a normal thing, never played an oathbreaker before, here things might explain why it didn't work as intended, I long rested in Wilderness, but when I went back to Rosymorn Monastery Trail Death Shepherd was still under my control for way over those 10 minutes, but when I long rested there in my camp and went back to the over-world he was immediately aggressive. Never switch between party member, I don't like having characters with the same class in the same party. Also he never died, I mean, can you even bring him back from the dead?

It's probably due to switching acts. I'm not sure why he didn't follow you. Could be related to switching acts, but I know you can switch from act 1 to 1.5 okay under normal circumstances. I'll look into why he didn't follow, but the rest is just because of switching acts. Entities in other acts will sperg when left behind without a guardian.

Maybe you could add an exception that removes the status from them if you switch acts (so if you ever come back to that act, the guy won't bug out). I'd rather come to an act and see a hostile dude I can try to control again rather have the convenience of him still being controlled but with the risk of him killing my party in their sleep lol

I sure said switching acts a lot in that comment. Don't usually pay much attention to what I'm typing when I'm swapping between tabs (and frankly, not my most beloved mod). Regardless, yeah, still the case. Switching acts is something I can take into consideration, even if it ultimately just means more people commenting about the aggro dude in camp lol.

It was probably answered below but in act two I am trying to control a death shepherd but it keeps making everyone hostile to it despite being controlled

Faction-wise, this mod isn't doing anything. It's using Larian's vanilla unedited faction system as they initially used it on Control Undead.

Wish there was an optional file to disable the effect wearing off after a long rest, for true permanent minions, just because I want to control and keep the whole undead squad at the Trails, 2 Death Shepards, 1 Ghast, and 4 Ghouls, or at least the shepards and ghast.

Ported over the Command Undead fix to Larian's swapping controlled creatures to MC if you send them to camp. And something that clears controlled undead on respec. Just need to test before releasing, so it'll have to wait until later in the weekend.

Control Undead complete seems to be making my game crash when i try to control an undead if i already have another in control.
I am trying to control a shadow-cursed Kar'niss and no matter the load order of mods it keeps crashing my game.
If i kill the first undead then it is possible to control another.

Controlled Ketheric during the roof fight, made him jump off it to his death, instantly finishing the fight.

Turns out, that messed up the game's vital scripts and made it impossible to complete Act 2, as his ultimate death after the second fight doesn't trigger a cutscene now.

I don't know if it's even your mod causing this problem, it might be 'Control Undead' itself causing the bug, as you are not even meant to be high enough level to be able to use the spell on Ketheric...

Even if it's the spell itself - then it means that at the very least the 'no req' submod has potential to cause this problem as it allows you to control him.

Either way, it would be very nice of you if you added a disclaimer to the mod's description that Ketheric should NOT be controlled, EVER.

p.s. Proper uninstallation guide would be nice too. Removed your mod during the troubleshooting without first killing the controlled shadow-cursed undead - it turned into common undead that doesn't disappear from the summons tab even after death. Reinstalling mod after that didn't change anything about this situation and I could Control Undead another enemy. It's 100% on me, should have killed my controlled undead first, just saying it would be nice to have a proper uninstallation guide before someone does this accidentally.

I'm not sure if I've seen this behavior prior to this mod, so correct me if I'm wrong, but controlled undead usually don't take keys from your inventory to unlock doors in their way. Which is something that my controlled shadow-cursed undead just did...

It's not terribly important - keys are useless after you unlock whatever they were locking, but it is a weird interaction of systems. If you want your key back without killing your servant - you'll have to pickpocket it.

Haha. This mod wouldn't have anything to do with giving them something they wouldn't otherwise have in that regard, but if you're using Animate Dead++, that allows undead to interact with doors, which probably follows the same functionality pas anyone else in your party (so they take the key if they need it).

    1. Let Cazador ascend (I'll miss our poor pale elf)
    2. Use control undead on him
    3. ???
    4. Profit. Congratulation now you got your very own vampire ascendant pet. although unfortunately, his buff only last for 1 day but if you kill him while he is your pet, he can take you to developer land

Control undead doesn't seem to persist into a long rest, just turns hostile immediatly upon getting into camp..

No lvl requirement seems to not work. I'm using this mod alongside most of your necromancy mods, and I'm trying to control the Death Shepherds in the mountainpass so that I may assault the gith creche with an undead raiding party, to no avail. All my characters are lvl 6, and I don't have any mod that should affect the DSs other than Combat Extender, but I highly doubt that's the culprit. I don't have Permanent Undead and Elementals either. Not sure why this is happening, but I suppose I'll just have to skip their encounter and come back once I'm lvl 7.

I thank you for making control undead better though, I'm curious why Larian didn't do it this way, but atleast there are people like you around to correct their mistakes for the benefit of all. Thank you sincerely for your necromancy mods.

To be sure, do you have the No Level Req version of this mod set to load after the regular version, and if using Vortex, are sure the mods deployed?

If so, I'll have to give it another look. I'm glad you're getting something out of my mods regardless. Thanks!

I gave this a spin, and it's working on higher level mobs. There are a few rare mobs in the game that Larian has made immune to Control Undead, so make sure it isn't one of those.
