Made a new version that also allows half blooded elves/drow to use half the benefits from Eldersong. Because they needed to get exactly half the bonus, I had to bump bonus damage for pure blooded races even further to 2d4, as game refuses to accept bonus damage values lower than 1d4.
If you think new version is OP, please use one of the old revisions that are still available for download.
just want a clarification: does radiant/necrotic for elves/drow mean that elves get radiant and drow get necrotic? or can we choose?
and if we can't choose, would it be possible for you to split those two damage types into different options? i'd like my drow to be able to use radiant damage, if it isn't possible yet
thank you, regardless! i am looking forward to using the visual mod for sure :D
would you be willing to make a version that lets elves get necrotic and drow get radiant? or maybe even make them separate options? if not, that's okay - i'm enjoying the mod already!
Not really? Eilistraee in lore is pretty big on the uprising of drow in any way possible via doing good acts, it makes sense that the ones that reap the most benefit are drow
Thanks for the mod! Would it be possible for there to be a variant that allows half-elves to receive one of the bonuses on the weapon? Or even a 'minor' version of the bonus (i.e., instead of 1d6 it'd be 1d4 or just a flat-out small attack/damage number)?
+1. I like the idea of it having a weaker effect, but still some effect, for Half-Elves. Also, thanks for the mod. I've tried a few other Phalar Aluve overhauls in the past, but I think I like your approach the best with its simpler implementation.
I'm currently researching ways of implementing this. So far it seems to be not that simple and almost all my time is devoted to another mod. If I'll come up with an elegant solution, I'll do it.
I have a question : If I want both the visual change and the stats but I don't want a +3 sword in Act 1 - can I install both the visual change and the vanilla +1 version from the optional files or do I need to make a choice between one of them ?
Edit : I saw my answer in the description of the main file. Sorry
What's the visual change? I couldn't figure it out, so I unpaked it... no texture or model files.... Or am I missing something? Cuz I'm trying to slightly tweak a weapon looks anmd I've ran into a wall... was hoping to learn from your mod
I like this rework quite a lot, especially the racial specific bonuses those are always cool.
Is there a way you could implement specific weapon actions becoming available with certain races? For example elves could get Moonlight Butterflies or profain Scourge, and drown could receive Shadow soaked blow or revitalizing Strike. Is that possible? Is so would you consider implementing it?
(As a side note) I think unique longsword benefit from the cleave and pricing strike weapon actions. But that just me.
Over all I think this is a great edit to an amazing sword concept that had lackluster delivery with the original game. Good job!

Edit: Ah yes, you're actually right. There's "Drow Half-Elf". :D
Then the answer is no, it won't work for any race than a pure elf or drow.
