Note: Sadly, I won't update this mod anymore (if any game update breaks it) as i deleted the game :(
Note: The mod won't show up in the in-game Mod Manager load order because it's an override mod, but it should show in the BG3ModManager load order in the override section[Fixed in v1.1]
While I really appreciate you updating this... It feels kinda sus to be needing to download through an external file hosting like mediafire.com. If you are taking over maintaining it can you just fork it over as your own mod here on Nexus? or Can this be added to the mod.io so we can install it through the in game mod manager?
Thank you!!! I play w/ controller and hate having to hold down the damn tooltip button constantly while also being unable to rotate the camera. Bollocks, Larian should've given the option.
Heads up for installation: put this in your C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods, and remember to enable it
Don't put it in the Data folder, like the original mod description says
Hi RottenShadow, if you have a working version of this "Toggle Tooltips" mod for Patch 7, could you please make it available on nexus? - I saw your previous comment you might do that, but don't see any mods on your profile. I'm just getting into BG3 mods, and I'd really like a 'toggle show items' mod, but tbh I don't want to use mediafire/etc to DL. That always seemed more risky/sketchy to me.
@Hyperlite147 sadly, no i won't update this mod anymore (if any game update breaks it) nor uploading it to nexus as i deleted the game :( it's okay to be suspicious about external link i recommend scanning my files using VirusTotal it's the same website nexus use to scan mods Have a good day
Mod is still working in patch #4 just intead of using the file you can download use this link and do the steps mentioned in description or the steps Nilt mentioned down here
Go to the game's install path. (Not the folder in %localappdata%!) This path will vary somewhat but since I am using the default Steam install it is here for me: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\
Create this folder in that install path: "\Data\Public\Game\GUI\Widgets\" in the game install path. Some of these won't exist. Just make new folders anywhere that is the case.
Right click this link and save it to the new folder you just made. Choose the option to "Save Page As" or "Save Link As". This varies depending on your browser of choice.
Save the file as WorldTooltips.xaml in the folder created in Step 1.

this worked for me
f*#@ Larian for making such an awesome game, then couple it with a complete lack of this simple QOL.
