POTENTIALLY FIXED (I can't play without this mod but it is also the absolute bane of my existence since it's so FINICKY. Hopefully this works for other people but no promises as I've had this mod break so many times and the fix is different everytime).
1. Download the mod from the link in the desciption (https://github.com/shalzuth/BG3HighlightEverything), NOT from the files tab. 2. Use BG3MM, OR, copy the pak file straight into your MODS folder (AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods). "HighlightEverything" should show up under the 'overrides' tab in BG3MM. 3. If using ImpUI, DO NOT INSTALL IT WITH BG3MM. Copy the ImpUI pak straight into your DATA folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data) 4. Pray
If this doesn't work exactly, honestly, my best recommendation is trial and error. I've had it work before by doing the opposite (e.g. ImpUI in BG3MM and HE straight in the data folder), but I've also had it work other ways too. This mod is so confusing lol. Good luck!
whats the process on linux? i have tried to use Lampray but that didnt work EDIT: got it half working, put the pak file into ".../.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1086940/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/Mods" and it now highlights more things but i already see 2 piles of bones, a wicker basket, and an arm that the mod is ignoring
I feel like I am missing something, the link from Github doesnt have a pak file inside it to put in the Mods folder. Which file should I put in the folder?
Have you extracted the folder? I'm pretty sure the pak file was the only thing inside. Maybe try the same process but with the file from Nexus? I'm not actually sure if there's a difference but I wanted to list the process that worked for me exactly. :)
Sorry I'm not familiar with Linux so can't really help :( My partner uses it though and says that looks like the correct path. Are you also using ImpUI? Could be an issue there?
Working for me on Patch 8. I deleted the \AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\modsettings.lsx file. I was getting a failed to load the main menu from the current game mod error when first installed. I also installed Mod fixer.
Definitely confirm this isn't working on patch 8. Gonna try putting HighlightEverything.pak in the Data folder like a few other people mentioned to see if it works.
Is there an alternative mod like this but works on patch 8?
I have found the mod "Highlight (Almost) All" and that mod works also with Patch 8. I am still testing it, but it is a nice substitute for now. You should check it out.
Last downloaded this mod on March 20, it worked in my BG3MM list until Patch 8 came out. Now it won't work, even when I put it in the Data folder in steam.
Can confirm as of today that manually adding the PAK file to Baldurs Gate 3/Data adds the functionality of this mod to the game. I can now see the labels for things like skeletons, clamshells, and containers, at least at the beginning of the game.
It no longer works with BG3 MM after the Hotfix 26 or 27 coming alongside Mac/console Patch 7.....but I can confirm per another poster down the page that if you perm delete in BG3 MM (I also did a fresh Export Order to Game after to be safe), and then manually copy the .pak file to the BG3\Data folder before relaunching the game, the functionality will work that way.
Wanted to say, works perfectly fine for me. I didn't do anything other than download and install through Vortex. Running in tandem with Already Inspected, Auto Loot Aura, and Preemptively Label Containers so that I truly don't miss anything.

This ended up working for me. Thank you for this post!
So much loot missed, but it's all mine now.

One of the best mods
- I DO NOT have this mod listed in BG3 Mod Manager
- I just paste the .pak file into SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data
Now I can see all the interactable objects that were hidden before.
The mod was not working while I had it listed in BG3MM. Then I remove it from MM and it starts to work.
I only use UI Enhancement Mods.
Running Steam on Linux.
