I created this mod for Baldur's Gate 3 and posted it on Nexus prior to official mod support. I have no desire to rework it in the new format being used by the official mod manager, but I have received a number of requests to do so, especially from console users.
As such, I am posting my mods on github for any enterprising modder to fork and take over in order to make the conversion and handle the publication of them as you wish. They belong to the world now.
Thank you for this mod, it's exactly what i was looking for. Just a heads-up though (and consider i'm playing on patch 6, so no idea if it's the same on patch 7): 1. It doesn't work in the rare cases you roll a 1, since bonuses (including this one) don't apply on critical failure rolls. I tried adding another mod that disable critical failures entirely but i don't think it's compatible with this. 2. I'm pretty sure it can't be removed mid-playthrough, at least not by simply disabling it in bg3mm.
1's and 20's are their own thing. I don't override them.
You can't uninstall it with the items in your inventory (like any item mod). To uninstall it (or any other) get a chest summon mod, put the items into the summoned chest, and let it despawn. That should free the mod for removal.
Not sure if it's due to the big patch 7 update but my Cursed Die doesn't seem to work properly, it doesn't apply the -20, only a +1. Edit: Never mind, was dumb and didn't read the description of the die thoroughly enough. Works good for Patch 7 still
The tutorial chest is not in the starting room (which has two chests so I figure that is where you are looking). The tutorial chest is in the room past shadowheart where you get the key to open her pod. I've never gotten a solid answer as to why the modding community picked that chest when others are closer - some speculate the starting room chests were not in an early beta version of the game
Wait there is a third diamond dice that adds 99 to a roll? Is it from this mod? I have the latest version, but this diamond dice don't spawn in the tutorial chest bag, I found it accidentally while searching in Easy Cheat mod:)
Eyo, I don't know for sure, as I haven't had the mod long enough, but there IS a mod to disable critical failures or even critical successes. Though I will try to come back here with an answer for ya if it crit fails or not, lol I'll let you know when I find out, Edit! Even if you roll a crit failure, it auto jumps to 0 and then 20, so there's no way to fail with the crooked dice unless you're actually trying to,
Hello, mod works fine but I have a bit of teeny tiny issue, the item says long rest but it doesn't last until long rest at all, but it's enough to make a dice roll tho so it's not that of a big deal. Great mod!
Have you found a fix for this issue because i ran into it too, the mod is so good but its really annoying when it just disappears before you can use it
The mod is designed to be acive for just one die roll or conversation event. It technically lasts one tick. If you apply it before starting the lockpick or conversation it may drop before the event starts, so it is best to always use it from the bonuses menu while in the event which has a different timer. The way it gets added and removed causes it to show a long rest duration but that is not true. One day I will see if I can fix that.
Not sure if any of this was updated. I forget what version I have.
But for me, it acts like a buff like "guidance" which is exactly what I want.
very few cases where I'd want a permanent mod. I went through hell trying to fail the charmed meat roll in act two. It would have been impossible if the die stayed until a long rest.
Hello, I can’t understand why there is nothing in the training chest except a potion, and this is the case with most mods that should add something to it ((
I'm curious if this is a "True" 20 sided die and will auto-critical success for every roll, or is it just a +20 modifier? i have completed the game and am aware of a DC99 check LATE GAME.. does this just add +20 to the dice roil, or is this a "Nat 20" all the time? with this knowledge, it could help future modders and open ideas for new mods! thank you very much for any help!!

Might look into that mod though.
Edit: I found the answer. you have to take the gems out of the pouch. XD

Edit: If It could my f8 key would thank you too. I appreciate the option to put the dice away in the bag so they don't tempt me all the time.
