First comment on my first mod I ever made. Nice. Anyway I don’t think I did when you compare it to the majority of the other mods on here. To each their own.
Majority of the mods here are made by the people who either haven't played the game and just mod it, or haven't finished act 1. They dont understand the balance of the game or DND for that matter. Most players who don't each download the reasonable mods only, and yours is among those which are easily considered over powered and overloaded. Not to mention, nothing new was added to the weapon. It is a mish mush of different items and some extra dmg slapped on each other. I realize most of what I say is negative or critique, but people need to learn to accept obvious critique. Since despite the fact, that I am negative, it is honest truth.
Go touch the grass, balance keeper, lmao. Something you don't like? Do it yourself. There's no gold standard here, everyone does what they want within the bounds of morality.
Been playing DnD for over 15 years. There are legendary items/artifacts that make this look like a used toothpick. The Rakdos Riteknife in the Ravnica Campaign setting is a dagger that does 6d4, heals, and destroys souls.
I added a few d4 for flavor, to match what the weapon does in the books. Also, as I said in the description, I’m LEARNING. If you don’t like it, make your own mods. I honestly couldn’t care less about your opinion so with all due respect, which you’ve lost at this point, have a nice life.
Yeah Honor4saken, ignore that Nhire dude. He says "people need to learn to accept obvious critique" when the more self-aware statement would be "I need to learn how to provide people with feedback in a way that actually encourages them to listen." Even if what he said was the truth, the delivery had no finesse to it at all. Definitely rolled a Nat 1 on his Persuasion attempt.
The simple truth is that all legends are overpowered, I was trying to find a good stopping point and I think I did. There’s even some non legends that are overpowered, like Phalar Aluve with it’s shriek and the Jolt trio with their lightning charges (an overpowered mechanic period).
Thanks for the comment, and I hope you enjoy the mod. Working on my next one now but I can’t get my custom passive to work right.
Hey there, I see the multi attack skill in the image, but i don't see it in the game. Did you remove it to adjust the animation as you said in the pic ?
Yeah, turns out the ability is mapped to gnolls and the animation doesnt exist for any of the PC skeletons. I have no idea how to do animations so I removed it.
Please mention the original mod - Looks like the identical weapon just different UUID and damage is almost the same. https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1514
I just checked it out. And yes it looks like he did make Taulmaril as well, but we have different interpretations. He made a shortbow (in the books it’s an elven longbow), he also only has electric and force damage… no piercing (the books say it shoots actual arrows, that are enchanted).
I opened the .pak and the code is very different. Different icon, different model, different base item, different interpretation of damage, different ranges (Taulmaril made a shot across a valley).
when two people set out to make an interpretation of the same thing there’s bound to be similarities. I’ll acknowledge he beat me to it. But I generated mine with Cauldron, and tweaked it. I initially had mighty and silence on it because I had NO idea what I was doing and used a Susser enchantment by mistake.
It is definitely overpowered but anybody who is truly a fan of the legend of Drizzt will also understand that Taulmaril IS overpowered, this is a very good interpretation in my opinion. this bow could shoot through stone and changed the course of full on sieges in the right hands. Keep it up and please keep rocking out all the companions gear. seeing Artemis' knife would be a neat one and would make for some epic rogue builds
P.s. Nice Easter egg in the image there Barrabus the Grey
Thanks, and yeah Entreri is a favorite of mine, I use his pseudonym a lot. I would love to make his dagger, but even more so Charon’s claw. I just have ZERO experience with blender, and I just started modding a few days before I released this one. If I do either of those, I want to do them justice like EdmondLordBlackladder did with his Icingdeath and Twinkle mods. HIGHLY recommend those.
Just added it! Its in the Tutorial chest now. theres three versions of the bow now as well. Didn's see the discrepancy, thanks. Working on custom model at the moment but I could get around to toning it down.

Would you consider adding a toned down version, without the lightning damage die?
The current version is a bit too strong for me to use rn :)
Also in the description it says it does a d10 piercing, but the screenshot shows a d8
