About this mod
Updates the atrocious Witch Bolt spell to the actually worthwhile 2024 PHB version more accurately than other mods and with additional improvements, such as restored and fixed Twinned Spell.

Changes:
- Updated to be as close as possible to the 2024 PHB version. The only part I haven't been able to implement is if the target has total cover.
- The initial damage is increased by 1 die for all levels (level 1 is 2d12).
- On a subsequent turn, the caster can activate the link(s) with a bonus action (all other mods that change activation to a bonus action also allow it on the same turn as casting). Note that the subsequent damage is intentionally not supposed to increase when upcasting.
- Subsequent turn use can only be activated once per turn to prevent additional bonus action stacking boosts exploits. While the 2024 PHB does not have this restriction, there is no feature in official 5e content that grants multiple bonus actions per turn like in BG3.
- Subsequent turn effect applies even if the original attack missed.
- Not activating the link on a subsequent turn no longer ends the spell early.
- Subsequent turn use is reduced to the normal spell's range (30 -> 18). The link can be activated and use a bonus action beyond the range, but no damage will be done. Check your range before using.
- Restores the ability to use Twined Spell metamagic with Witch Bolt and fixes the bug where it removes one of the beams (this is a different method than that in Witch Bolt Twincast Fix which no longer works as of patch 6 and it's development is no longer supported).
Issues:
- On subsequent turns, if outside the 18m/60ft range, the caster can still use and consume a bonus action but it will not deal any damage. Check your range before using.
- On subsequent turns, a caster can activate and damage the target(s) even if the target has total cover. Cover isn't a mechanic in BG3. Sight is out because RAW an invisible creature doesn't have total cover automatically. And I can't get trajectories to work on unlocked spells, so this is unresolvable at the moment.
- Beams may linger after a target dies, but will be removed once concentration ends (mostly affects twinned spell use).
Installation: use BG3 mod manager. Should work on existing saves without the need to respec. Can uninstall safely without breaking save files.
Compatibility: Works with Patch 7 and Patch 6 beta. Will conflict with other mods editing Witch Bolt, but this mod was developed to remove the need of multiple mods. Load this mod below/after mods that alter multiple spells including Witch Bolt and use Compatibility Framework for the best possible compatibility.
