Since it belongs to Lorroakan, and Lorroakan has a cool ability (Elemental Retort), I think it should give you that one, which would be amazing for evocation wizards, just like he is
I quite like the design of the staff (game mechanics-wise, I mean) but the Stormcaller ability seems a bit underpowered considering you have to be in Act 3 to get it. (Barring getting the staff from the tutorial chest, of course.)
I thought about giving the spell level scaling but never got around to it. Idea was to add a 1d6 lightning dmg die every 3 or 4 levels so at lv 12 it will do 3d6 lightning dmg or something. Will have to think about it further.
I am agreeing with this. Even in Act 1, Storm caller isn't even consistently dropping goblins in the Raid on the Grove.
My thoughts:
The only other majorly used feature that takes a Bonus AND an Attack action is Smiting, which is a rider on your existing weapon damage. To me, Storm Caller either needs to be a Reaction riding on a Spell Attack Roll, or my preference would be, only a Bonus Action. Or if you are keeping it at the St+Bn Action, the damage needs to scale better with levels. A D4 and a D6 on damage is at absolute best doing 10points and a median of 6 average. That ain't anything. I could be quite happy though with spending a Bonus Action on this to make an enemy Wet and then hitting them with a Spell like Lightning Bolt.
(I do kinda wish the radius on it was a little bigger too, but that's more just me.)
hi! can you please let me know if this staff being smaller is the part of this mod, or there's a separate mod that shortens all staffs? because the one I have is much bigger than the ones in your screenshots still :c
Does the very rare version from the tutorial chest have the same enchantments as the legendary version or weaker versions? Meaning, does it have the raging thunder and Lightning veins plus Storm Caller?
Uhm, I either did something wrong, or is it a mod conflict? Because it does not show the same abilities as the legendary version, still a very nice quarterstaff, but no abilities as on your screenshot.
Just tried it out like you asked, I placed it here …

And now it is working as intended.

So my guess is that some mod(s) somehow caused it to happen. Although this is the first time in my gaming history seeing a mods enchantments not appear because of another mod? (There is a first time for everything it seems.)
Yeah that just mean there's another mod that modified the original Lorroakan staff. If you have any mod that changes weapons in general it's probably that.

Thank you for the help.
