Downloads are saved in in 7z format instead of zip to get smaller files. If a ridiculous amount of time is estimated to unpack the mod you might not have a 7z capable app installed.
Due to it's higher compression rate which results in smaller files .7z is the most common format here on Nexus.
Any idea if your mods are compatible with patch 8? They don't seem to work for me. They're set to install as loose files through Vortex, the game just refuses to let me start new game with them installed. The only thing the game says is "Error Server Shutting Down." and goes back to main menu.
Managed to get them to work. Apparently, the water one and the fire+ashes one don't go together, game's having a stroke if I try and load them together. Works if I load one or the other though so I've stuck with the fire+ashes one.
How does this play with your other texture mods when manually installing? They are all named 'generated' so I'm not sure if I just dump them all to the Data folder they would overwrite each other or not? Or should I merge them into one file beforehand?
Yep, just dump them all to the Data folder. They contain just one file which is conflicting, VFX_Gradient_Wave_02.dds (Same file two times, going to remove it from my water mod with next update). Just overwrite that file and you will be fine.
Works fine with Patch 8 and latest Hotfix. I'm running all four of the Vivid Landscapes, the 4K or 2K versions (whatever was biggest). No issues. Installed using Vortex. 10GB vram usage (max settings, no scaling), these are the only HD textures mods I'm using. Runs fine 7900xtx River and Ashes had two water textures that conflicted with Water. I put Water after R&A.
Mind telling me how you even got the game running with the vivid mods? My game won't let me play with them installed. I have the "Error Server Shutting Down" thing when trying to play with them.
Well it just worked, so can't say I did anything special. Just give background I guess.
I hadn't used mods before, so fresh install (maybe a full wipe would work, uninstall game, remove folder etc.) Already use Vortex so just added the game. Used tools to point to the Vulcan exe (that also has reshade running) Downloaded LSLIB/Divine Tool as Vortex asked me to do in a message. Read about modfix no longer needed, didn't have it so fine. So 1.19.5 version of that is running. Then just downloaded the Vivid mods through Vortex that automatically installed them. Other than the file conflicts mentioned, no issues and it worked.
So running the four Vivid mod and Native Camera Tweaks only right now. No issues.
I Presume this is Correct as your Other Texture Mods Start as a "Data Folder" then Inside they have the said "Generated Folder" so they Merge Together?
Is there a way to Install These Mods Through the Github Mod Manager as I can't seem to do so? You Mention you can Install your Texture Mods this way, Or do Texture Mods have to be Installed Manually?
Sorry for this long Comment mate, I just want to make sure I'm Installing things right! Thanks :)
bg3mm (the github one) can only install paks. loose files like these either need to be installed manually or through vortex. G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data this is my path. I just dump the generated folder into data and let it merge. so yes you are installing it correctly. as for whether they're taking effect or not...honestly I can't really tell myself but it's not a drastic enough change for me to notice in the first place, y'know. some skyrim landscape mods went nuts and it was easy to tell something is different.
I've not noticed this Issue on Gameplay vids I've seen Online. But for whatever Reason the Draw Distance in my Game for Certain Objects / Textures Seems Really Bad. Textures that cant be More than 10-15 Feet Ahead of me Seem to Constantly "Pop in" and it is distracting. it seems to be the Rock & Grass Textures mostly. But it's extremely Noticeable with Textures just appearing non-stop as I'm Moving.
Again, I've looked at Other Gameplay Vids (Patch 7) and I can't find this to be a Problem for anyone else. Do you also have a similar experience?
Hi there. I've got a similar issue. When I finally got to the goblin camp, I've noticed that there are some problems with textures. I can't remember when it started but I'm very picky so I think I would have noticed it earlier too :) For example when I stand with any companion under the wall and I start the conversation it, in most cases, starts with textures sharp, hi re but after a 3 or 4 seconds it changes drastically - companions face, armor, and especially the whole background changes textures as I look at them. Just like that. They all go low res. And from that point they start to slowly improve to get the hi res point. But after few seconds i get a little stutter (I'm using Riva Statistics Server with a framerate graph so I can notice it in there) and the process starts again - textures get low res and they improve, and it keeps going and going as long as I;m stuck in the dialog or cutscene :( I'm soooo mad at this at the moment and I haven't found even one sensible solution that would eliminate this problem. Now I'm gonna reinstall the game and try to run it without all those graphics mods (I'm using over 100 mods right now but graphics mods I use are only those few from this guy)
Hello Sir, just wanted to say im obsessed with textures in games and you made me very happy with your BG3 mods.
Also, is it possible to change draw distance of textures? Eventhough textures are obviously better, the game still blurs textures that are relatively close to you and that kills the immerssion a bit again.

For Example (This Mod) Do we Have to simply place the Whole "Generated Folder" in the Data Directory? -
File Path : Baldurs Gate 3 / Data / Generated (Your Folder)
