This is my personal tweak but noticed some felt the same way so thought I'd post it. If you want the opposite of this check out Approval Ratings.

(Version A) This is after the druid grove and blighted village.
Version A (Natural)
Relationships form over longer periods of time. They have less of a tendency to romance you unless you focus on them specifically. This is for someone looking for a more natural but still forgiving progression. Recommended for those that want the approval system similar to later builds of Early Access.

Approval values up to 20 are changed.
- Constant agreeableness slowly builds their trust in you over time; not abruptly.
- Plot points and pivotal moments still provide a large boost reflecting their importance.
- They now offer a bit more weight without becoming a hindrance.
- They often keep positive approval in check from spring boarding abruptly.
Version B (Fickle)
Relationships take even longer to form over time and can diminish. Your actions sway their trust in you; going against their personalities can breed dislike. Who you take is as important as what you take when exploring. Recommended for those that want the approval system similar to earlier builds of Early Access.

Approval values up to 20 are changed.
- Constant agreeableness will slowly build their trust in you even slower due to disapproval changes.
- Plot points and pivotal moments provide an even larger boost reflecting their impact and to circumvent chip-away.
- Constant disagreeableness will start to slight your companions opinion of you.
- Keeps positive approval in check from spring boarding even further in addition to having consequence.
I'll come back to this and fine tune it per-character, per-event, per-dialogue at a later date. I'm still playing and don't want to come across spoilers.
