    Unfortunately, anyone having troubles with the Gathering Storm charges will have to wait for a while. I've tried playing with just the mod on both versions but I am unable to recreate the problem. The Gathering Storm charges are working still on my end. But please, let me know more of the situation and perhaps we could work our way through it. I'll see to it that everyone can use the class effectively. Thanks for your support!

    REMINDER: Only Steel Tempest restores the charges, Steel Thrust does not.

    TEMPORARY FIX: Download any mod from VivaSortiara, for some reason his files mods are helping my mod. Will remove this dependency in the future if needed.

      I just downloaded your Drakewarden compatibility patch. Going to see if that fixes the issue on my end and will update you!

      UPDATE: The Drakewarden compatibility patch works great! There's no longer a conflict with the subclass, and summoning the Drake is back to requiring just an Action.

      As for the Gathering Storm issue, it's still present on my end. What I'm noticing is that after a long rest, I start the day with two Gathering Storm charges and can use them to cast Storm Unleashed. However, once those charges have been spent, Steel Tempest no longer generates charges.

      One thing I'm wondering is that in the Gathering Storm tooltip that appears when you mouse over the charges icon on the ability bar is that it does state, "Recharge: Once Per Long Rest." I'm wondering if perhaps that's where the conflict is stemming from? Like once you use the Gathering Storm charges you have, it's not possible to generate anymore until a long rest.

      Would it be possible to try a version where the recharge on long rest is removed to see if maybe that's why charges aren't able to be generated?

      If that doesn't seem to be the issue, I'd be happy to provide you with the list of mods I'm using so we can try to see where the issue might be. I really love the class and see a lot of potential for it and would be happy to help you troubleshoot however I can :)

      Not sure about anyone else but with both mods installed (and tested to make sure they work) i still cant get Steel Tempest to proc and restore charges? (both in current and a fresh playthrough on the nautiloid)

      Hello, muffin.
      Currently, that's the only spell that expends the resource, so the class is still fairly modest with a handicap.
      I'm sorry if the resource is not working for you. We'll surely figure out the problem sooner or later with more testing.

      Hi Canta, 

      I'm a tad confused by what you mean, "Currently, that's the only spell that expends the resource" surely Steel Tempest is the ability that restores charges not spends them? 

      Anyway keeping my fingers crossed to find that fix for generating charges, a shame the suggested Temp Fix didn't work for me :(

    I don't know if this is by design or not but it reminds me alot of the Windrunners in Stormlight archives and I'm all for it!

    Can we get full changelog of changes, lots of old descriptions sayin things need this and this only work with that lol

      What changed?
      I wanted to move forward with this mod as its own thing and have started to change its "inspired names". I might have missed a few things here and there, let me know in the comments!
      Here's what else I changed:

      • No longer requires Script Extender due to Larian changing things with modding and support. Thanks Larian!
      • No longer requires old mods that have shared UUIDs (for some reason, I do not know).
      • Will still require ImprovedUI for future-proofing, since I haven't changed the Resource Icon yet. (Waiting for Larian to allow such thing to happen without mods)
      • Rising Storm now works! (previously called Gathering Storm)


      What didn't change?
      The gameplay is the same. I decided to not change it for this update to Patch 8. However, with that in mind, I think the Patch 7 version still works.

    I just found this mod as I was returning to the game for patch 8. This is my exact class fantasy, and I love how you've implemented it!

    It's not often that I can find an up-close, melee-and-magic, wind-based class, so thank you so much for making this! I hope you continue to update it!

    This is very fun, do you think you could add a version with feat every level? The extra feat mods I'm using does not work with this one

      In case anyone else is having trouble with this and comes to these posts looking for an answer, what solved it for me was first leveling up a character in a vanilla class to wherever my feat mod would provide a new feat AND you have no more leveling up to do. So, if you use a mod that gives a feat every 2 character levels, level up to level 2 and select a feat.

      If you are respeccing and have enough exp to get to level 5, you have to finish the entire leveling up process in that vanilla class.

      Once you've done that, you can respec again, select the Windwalker class, and I was able to get the modded feat frequency selection to work. Hope this helps!

    I cannot multiclass from one class to this class. Might be worth looking into when you get the chance.

      I can multiclass without issues even without the required set up. just rechecked and set up multiclassing just to be sure though. Let me know if it persists.
      Also, make sure you have downloaded dependencies needed as well as the temp fix if that's an issue. I'll look into it deeper when I have the chance.

    Hi man i have same issue with gathering storm charges, like others. 
    i made some test on the training dummy in the camp, and i notice this thing, if i attack 2 time the dummy and not doing nothing between the 2 attacks (with steel tempest) it will give me 2 charge both with the second attack, and not 1 with the first and 1 on the second. Then i try activate turn mode and do 1 attack on my turn, skip turn of all my mates and do the second attack on my 2nd turn and nothing will charge. So i think the problem is there, Steel Tempest will not charge only 1 charge with 1 single attack but charge both charge with 2 attack made continuosly with no other action in between, neither the team mates turn. So i will try do make these two attack with extra attack feature and try if it work.

    But it's not work properly, becouse the description say it give 1 charge with 1 attack. I try download other mods that u say to add but no work. I think Steel Tempest give charge but in a sort of "temporary" state and if u do something then it will be reset, instead if u make two Steel Tempest continuosly it give u 2 charge after the second attack, i Hope it will help u to fix it becouse the class is so cool and it's so sad it don't work :(

      OK with extra attack it works, but i have to use both attack per turn on Steel Tempest and give me two charge on second attack!

      yup, same here.  Attacking the dummy twice gave me two charges, but they disappeared on the next turn.  I think that is just because the dummy is not technically "combat." 

      Good find!

    i don't think gathering storm is working attacked twice in the same fight and my resource was still red as if i hadn't gained anything.

      Can tou tell me more of the combat scenario so I could try and replicate the error?

      I'm also experiencing this issue. It's not specific to any single combat encounter, Steel Tempest just never generates Gathering Storm charges for me.

      I also noticed something else kind of odd: I have KiderionLykon's Drakewarden Ranger subclass mod installed (https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2838) and for some reason, it requires a Gathering Storm charge to summon the Drake (typically it just costs an Action), meaning that a Ranger with that subclass can't summon their Drake familiar without multiclassing into Windtalker. Not sure how or why the two mods are crossing over and interfering with each other like that, but figured it was worth mentioning.

      I am unfortuantly suffering the same issue ;-; I have also tried just now only playing this this mod and its dependancys and I still cannot seem to gather storm charges

      I don't have much to add but hope this helps.

      Tav is a Windtalker who has the issue. Happens in every combat from the Nautiloid to fights thereafter. He is dual-wielding and is a Wood Elf. For kicks and giggles I switched him to sword & board, and then to a 2-hander, but the issue remains.

      I also multi-classed Astarion into Windtalker (2 levels of Windtalker), and he has as a class action attack Soul Breaker, but Tav does not. The Gathering Storm issue occurs with him as well. I should mention there is a Gathering Storm filter button (next to Reactions) and clicking it shows the Storm Unleashed icon but is greyed out.

      Thanks for your detailed input. Would it be fine if you disclose other mods on your list or if only Windtalker was used?

      I'll try all your configs and hopefully we could weed out the bad leaf.

      Not sure this is a huge help to the issue, I just un-installed every mod I had to discover if i could track down maybe what was conflicting... but no luck it still seems that Steel Tempest doesn't proc charges

      Heh, well, I'm using a ton of mods. I would try and disable everything but BG3MM is kind of a pain when you also have a ton of disabled mods. The "Save Order" functions kind of work but don't seem to work 100%.

      But there's no way I can add them back one at a time. Too darn many but I'll do what I can. It's just odd that other than the GS charges the mod works fine. Can't imagine what's breaking that one specific part of it.

      Maybe advise on what kind of mod might be fighting with yours. I have yours loading last, just ahead of Compatibility Framework so I would assume yours should overpower anything before it (I could be wrong).

      Edit: Disabled all mods except this one and the overrides. Windwalker chosen, but still not generating GS's after 5 attacks. Confirmed no other mods active.

      I should mention that upon loading the game, Storm Unleashed's icon is "lit" and shows 2 GS charges (I can even attack the "air" with Storm Unleashed) but once combat begins it's disabled and the "2 Gathering Storm" text is in red and the 2 GS charges are gone.

      Okay, I can't explain this and I won't even try.

      I installed the Death Knight mod and started a new game with Tav as the DK and then multiclassed Shadowheart to Windtalker @ L2. 
      GS charges worked and accumulated after 2 attacks.

      I then loaded up a prior saved game with a Windtalker (no DK but the mod still enabled) and GS's accumulated.

      Last test - Disabled DK and Windtalker still works and GS's are being charged.

      Makes no sense.

      LOL well, loaded up the game where it was working and now it isn't working again.

      I made several mod changes - Added the Pirate and Helm Armory mods and updated the VFX_Library for the Bard/Dirge mod, and updated Elemental_Spells and Valkrana's Spellbook. 

      I've gotten some strange interactions between mods, but this situation takes the cake.

      Dont know if this helps you, but mine works, then breaks at cutscene lae'zel
      I'm not sure if its all cutscenes because I havent done any other testing, maybe it'll work if you subclass into windtalker? idk, dont have time to test it out atm. Love your mod btw
