i was in the same boat i havent been able to finish a long rest when asterion bites you because my character either gets stuck in a coma or when he walks off screen my game crashes. i hard reset my pc so im hoping to see if i can get past it before installing any mods
Game runs fine- Multiplayer runs fine- Downloads mods- plays alone fine- tries playing with friend that played with before doesnt work- disable all mods- try again- gustavdev problem- reinstall game- still same thing- deleted random gustav dev files prob breaking my game idk- game doesnt run now- trying to find corrupt files with steam now...
edit- steam is reeinstalling missing gustav dev files bv the game needs it to run. but still I bet multiplayer wont work
Tried both fixes, but the game still freezes up for me. I also tried uninstalling bg3, reinstalling, uninstalling/reinstalling graphics driver, and disabling steam overlay. Nothing has worked so far. I have to wait about 5 minutes to get to the main menu every time I boot it up. What should I do? I haven't updated my CPU yet..
I hate to breaking this to you, but you really need a SSD or M.2 drive for the game, and meeting the minimum specifications to play it decently. However, Divinity - Original Sin Enhanced Edition and Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition do play great on bad hardware and are made by the same developer. While not on the same level as BG3 these are good games and can keep you entertained for a long time until you resolve your PC hardware issue. Another game that plays well and are highly recommended is: Dragon Age Origins, and to some extend Dragon Age Inquisition.
I have a m.2 drive and the game ran pretty well prior to me putting mods on it lol. I may try to clean-slate it again both mods and game + your fix to see if that works. When I tried to put Main in my active LO, it disappeared so something definitely went wrong on my end.
So the GustavDev.pak doesn't count as a pak file, but it replaced my main campain in the top of the mod manager. I'm trying to get this game to allow my brother to get back into our multiplayer file. I used an approval cheat mod on our unmodded save and now he can't get back in because it's giving him GustavDev errors.
HI ~ I encountered quite a strange bug, not sure if it's because of the mods or some issues with the game, but every now and then, when killing an enemy in combat, that enemy stays at 0 HP and the game semi-Freezes. I can look around and click on things, but nothing happens no matter what I do. Can't even quit the game normally. Did anyone had similar issue? And was able to work something around it?
I'm still having the issue where my mods move to Inactive after starting up BG3 and I haven't been able to figure it out at all ): I'm so desperate for a solution. I saw some people say conflicting mods, I've tried your main page walkthrough and nothing changed. I'm lost.
i have the righ path set i am on steam but still have the stuck at 100% loading screen and even the gustave dev mod dont appear in my bg3 mod manager so i dont know what else to do to fix this i have literally stopped playing the game because of this
There are cut scenes that causes the game to fail saves (quick save, hard save, camp saves etc) if I have any mods at all activated in the mod manager-- I've tried all of the mods to see if any of them in particular are causing the issue, but it's any of them when I reactivate them in the mod manager. I started to notice it in act 2, but act 3 it's a LOT of interactions/cut scenes where it starts to cause the saves to break.
1 guaranteed break for me was in the Durge playthrough and talking to the butler at the main entrance at Moonrise-- I had to interact with the butler at the docks instead. In act 3 a guaranteed break I found was buying face paints at the circus from the mummy.
The only thing that works is deactivating every mod... which makes my character look horrifying, haha. I'm just so tired of redoing so many parts b/c I didn't realize that the saves were broken, so it actually might cause me to delete the game and return to it in a few months. Like, it's frustrating to play for 300 hours and I can't even beat the game b/c I've had to go back so many times and try to find work arounds.
I did also follow any save bug fixes suggested for the base game, like turning off the cloud saves, validating files, etc. It's just mods in the mod manager that causes the save bug.
