What exactly are you running into? Have you checked that the filepath to place your replacer tattoos (C:\Program Files (x86)\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\Characters\_Models\_SharedAssets\SHARED_Atlas\Resources) is correct?

I did, and it was the correct file path. I am not sure if the problem is format of file or something else.

Do you have Unique Tav installed? Are the vanilla tattoos installed?

Great tutorial, is there a way to properly create your own Gen folder? I only ask because at first everything was working just fine up until the point where I'm trying to save my copy. I was using the makeup file (and I'm using photoshop on Windows 11) and when I went to save and replace as a DDS I get an error message that reads "Skin_Atlas_Head_SHR_Makeup_A_MSK2 This file is set to read-only. Try again with a different file name." I even went to look at the properties of the initial file you provided for the makeup and "read-only" was not checked off, so I'm not entirely sure what happened there. I ended up saving it in my downloads and then manually pasting my edited file into the Gen folder you provided (after deleting all the other content inside as well), and that strangely seemed to work. Also, I plan to go back and edit these for sure, as I just wanted to see if I was doing things correctly first (and just to see how it would look in game, thank you for taking the time to write the tutorial!), I noticed some blue-ish green tints on the eyelids for the makeup. I only drew in white on the black background and filled everything into the best of my ability with my graphics tablet before trying to launch it in game. (And don't mind the asymmetry, I guess I didn't tackle even that properly lol) Any idea how I could fix that? Thanks again!

Hi! First of all, gorgeous design work! To answer your questions:
      1) Yes! You can create your own filepath and as long as it has the correct naming and structure, it will indeed work. For this tutorial I already provided a Generated folder for convenience, but you can create your own and it will work provided you're following the following file path:
      Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\Characters\_Models\_SharedAssets\SHARED_Atlas\Resources
You need to drop your makeup atlas into the Resources folder.
      2) I've honestly never encountered the green tint issue before, it's honestly very weird. I can't really provide a straightforward solution but off the top of my head: check that the makeup is only on the Red channel and nowhere else, check with different skin tones and colors, and try replacing a different makeup slot.

Thank you very much!! By the way, I figured it out haha, error on my part I was able to fix. I will add to this thread if I come across something troublesome. Thank you again for making the tutorial. <3

Neon - Thanks for the resource! Based on your PSP info I was able to adapt your instructions using Gimp 2.10. Still learning the finer points, but happy to share notes with you if you're interested in expanding the guide to cover Gimp too. Let me know?

That would be amazing actually! I get a lot of people asking me for alternatives if they don't have Photoshop and I always feel bad for not being able to help them :/ Feel free to DM me!

Is there any way we could get a male face template also?

The template provided works for male heads also, since the UVs are rougly the same.

I don't know anything about editing tattoos and probably won't even learn how, but I love your preview picture for this mod. Brilliant.
