Does this Mod still work as of May 5th on Hotfix 25 ? I installed the shadowherat version and out the generated folder into the data fodler and the file is in there but she doesnt have black nails.
Maybe you do have something conflicting installed like Beautiful Nipples Textures (body skin)? In this case only one works, if you don't combine them yourself with an editing software.
@datboyart Ok i did not check every single Tielfling, I checked three female BT1 Tieflings running around. Assuming those specific ones do not usually have black nails it works for the NPCs. How it got that to work (which is not what I wanted to work) is to simply put the folder at the right place in my game folder. SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\Characters\_Models\Tieflings The location is dictated by the mods file. I had most of these folders already from my other mods. If you just drop the mods Data folder in the main Baldurs Gate 3 folder it should integrate everything where it should go. I will look into creating a .pak later maybe that helps.
Update. @FrancisLouis I turned the Tiefling BT1 file into a .pak. It loads fine for me and it affects the BT1 type Tielfings in the grove. Still does not affect me. Is it tied to my skin color? If yes that might be why since I am using a modded color.
Update 2. To test I added Shadowheart and the Halfling files to the .pak. Both work fine in CC. The other files all have a different naming scheme and only one .dds compared to the Tiefling files. Are the Tiefling files correct?
you probably have unique tav installed? (Ignore if you aren't) If so, download the Tiefling version and extract the TIF_F_NKD_BODY_A_MSK (DDS image) into unique tav/BODY/TIF/FEMALE. (the one you have to replace AND rename into is named UNIQUE_TIF_F_NKD_BODY_A_MSK) So create a back up for the original one in the folder before replacing it. After renaming your extracted file, simply boot up the game and it should work fine. Hope this helps! :)
I'm also having issues with BT3 tieflings. I use Unique Tav but have had no issue getting this mod to work for Elves (and by extension humans, half-elves etc. since they use the same file) doing the same for BT3 tieflings had no effect (in fact there was no counterpart file in U-tav's folders I could just plop the texture file and not get an overwrite notification yes I added the UNIQUE_ prefix, I literally mean there was no file to overwrite with the one from this mod, as was the case with the "NORMIES")
Hi! I'm not the modder, but after seeing your comment, I thought I'd try it out myself. It looks like I got it to work. I took a quick look at a few human and elf NPCs in the first act and they don't seem to have the black nail polish. Here are the steps I took:
1) Install Unique Tav 2) Extract the black nail polish mod file HUM_F_NKD_Body_A_MSK 3) Rename that file to UNIQUE_F_NKD_BODY_A_MSK 4) Find the folder for female Tav in this path: Baldur's Gate 3 > Data > Generated > Public > Shared > Assets > unique_tav > BODY > NORMIES > FEMALE 5) Drop the newly renamed file into the folder labelled "FEMALE" which will replace the existing file with that name
Hopefully that makes sense. That's how I got it to work for me. Also I didn't have unique tav before, so thank you for mentioning it!
I believe tattoos are handled via different DDS file "Skin atlas", which is stored in the "TATTOO" folder of Unique Tav So (not a mooder btw, justa layman) in theory it should work. I'll give it a try
For whatever reason it seems to not work for Type 3 Tieflings I successfully made it work for a Type 1 Drow using Unique Tav (following the instructions of @LittleBasketBao) what I noticed when trying to do it for a Type 3 Tiefling, there was no file to replace in Unique Tav's folders (I renamed it following the Unique Tav format but there was no counterpart file)
Idk if any of you have managed to make it work with Unique Tav AND Tye 3 tieflings, but that's what I found on my testing
I'm having a bit of trouble with this mod. I added it to my BG3MM but it's not appearing in the inactive section after I hit Refresh and I don't see it anywhere in the active section either. After like 3 times going thru my entire list of 130+ mods, I thought it might be in the Overrides sections but it's not there either. The weirdest thing is it *does* appear in my Baldurs Gate 3/Mods folder. It's just not showing up anywhere in BG3MM.
That's so weird because I have a HumansElvesHalf-ElvesDrow.pak file in my Mods folder as well as a Shadowheart.pak file in my Mods folder and that's exactly what they are called in the file section for this mod so I have no idea where else they could've come from. It doesn't at all help that they don't show up in BG3MM either.
EDIT: I swear this mod got updated specifically to be a .pak file? That's what the changelog shows. Yeah v1.1 was a .pak file and now v1.1 is missing from the Files section with no word from the mod author. So yes, this mod (the version I downloaded) is in fact a .pak file and NOT a loose files mod.

Any idea what I might have missed?
That's farther than I got. I can't even get it to work on anyone. How'd you get that to happen? I had to make a Generated folder. Still nothing.

If so, download the Tiefling version and extract the TIF_F_NKD_BODY_A_MSK (DDS image) into unique tav/BODY/TIF/FEMALE.

1) Install Unique Tav
2) Extract the black nail polish mod file HUM_F_NKD_Body_A_MSK
3) Rename that file to UNIQUE_F_NKD_BODY_A_MSK
4) Find the folder for female Tav in this path: Baldur's Gate 3 > Data > Generated > Public > Shared > Assets > unique_tav > BODY > NORMIES > FEMALE
5) Drop the newly renamed file into the folder labelled "FEMALE" which will replace the existing file with that name

It makes our little emo/goth heart happy that it's available to everyone everywhere
