Hi there. Make sure you have the "Game Data Path" setting set to the actual data folder (i.e. "Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data"). Then make sure "Main" is set as your campaign in the dropdown. Main = GustavDev.

The game data paks are parsed in order to load the campaign / base mod data, so this is necessary for the campaign dropdown to be populated.

The BG3 Mod Manager always exports the active campaign to the load order, so it sounds like you don't have a campaign set.

I'm not sure for other people, but selecting campaign does not actually solve my problem, unfortunately, the specific GustavDev info I need is still missing and woks upon adding it back in either manually or with the fix.

This is likely because there are some steps missing that seem a requirement for this to populate correctly.

You need to make sure BG3MM has your data paths correctly. For some reason, after I set it, BG3MM changed the Game Data path and set it's own Data folder as the Game Data path. Obviously that is wrong. So first step is ignore BG3MM's automatic detection of the game and manually check/enter them in.

After entering in the data and executable path, make sure to hit save, don't just close out the preferences window.

Then after saving this, restart BG3MM.

After restarting, make sure the campaign dropdown has "Main" selected. Then hover your mouse over "Main". If you did it correctly, it should bring up a popup tooltip that shows GustavDev like this:

You need to make sure BG3MM has your data paths correctly. For some reason, after I set it, BG3MM changed the Game Data path and set it's
own Data folder as the Game Data path. Obviously that is wrong. So first
step is ignore BG3MM's automatic detection of the game and manually
      check/enter them in.

Can you elaborate on this part? If I delete my settings.json for instance, and run BG3MM fresh, it sets the data path correctly, so I'm curious what's going on with your setup to make it default to a relative folder. BG3MM for me exists in just G:\BG3MM. The game is installed through Steam.

You can see how it sets the data path here: github link

Essentially it tries to find the game's installation directory via finding where Steam/GoG is through the registry, then finding the game path from there (for Steam it checks the libraryfolders.vdf file to see where games are installed), then finally using the Resources/DefaultPathways.json value for what the game data folder should be.

It's likely the returned path from the Steam/GoG check was empty for you, so the final step of appending the Data folder to the path made it think the folder was relative ("" + Data = "Data"). I can remedy that with an empty path check at least, but I'm curious what your setup is so this problem can be reproduced.

Data paths are not the issue for me, BG3 does not auto detect for me, and I have them set manually, it just doesn't populate campaign's properly.
It still modifies the files the same as before however.

      properly.

That's all the same issue though. It looks for the game installation path, sets the data path relative to that (same for the exe path). Later when mods are loaded, it loads the base mods from the game data folder, which includes GustavDev.

If there's no paks to parse for the base mods, there's no campaign to select. Hence why when you export after that, GustavDev is not added, because there's no selected campaign.

      @LaughingLeader

I installed it to a different directory than Steam's default (I put mine in \Games\Baldur's Gate 3) and when I downloaded BG3MM, I put BG3MM in it's own folder inside the Games folder but separate from BG3's.

I don't know if this is repeatable. All I can say for certain is that when I first ran BG3MM, it did not detect anything and left both Data and Executable blank. I manually entered them in and then ran into the GustavDev problem.

When I went to check the data paths as suggested from your reply to the Issue on Github, the Executable was still what I had set but the Data path had changed to \Games\BG3ModManager_Latest\Data

If you can replicate this, together with providing a log, that would be really helpful, as I'm not able to replicate it myself. You can enable logging under the Advanced tab in the preferences window, and they'll show up under a relative _Logs folder (restart the program after enabling).

The whole installation check part only happens if the data folder isn't set, or if it doesn't exist, so I'm not sure what would cause is to reset to a relative folder in your case.

I've tested it on a separate computer without the game installed for instance, and it preserves whatever I set the paths to (I've tried ones that both exist and don't exist), so there's probably something specific that causes a problem.

Gave it a couple goes with what I remembered as my steps on install, was unable to replicate. Could probably disregard that portion and chalk it up to user error. I'll update and post up on Github if I run into it again.

      That actually fixed my issue
my previous path was "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3" not directing to the Data folder.

      Big Thanks !!!

Hi there, apologies for bothering with so many people replying to this message. However I'm currently having problems finding the Data and BG3.exe files as they don't exist in the location I need to look [and the program was unable to automatically detect them before I tried to manually find it].

To note, I have opened up baldurs gate 3 and have already played multiple games. I've had no issues with it.

      Steam App File Area:

      Bin:

      Launcher:

From everywhere I've looked, I haven't been able to find a single file that I was told to use for Mod Manager. I have downloaded mods before in the previous patches, however I usually went straight to the mod folder and placed them there. But with this latest patch, I want to make sure I don't mess up any my saves by doing this wrong? So I'm unsure if just routing it to there would do anything.

For need of reference, here's my Larian Studios folder. Which as note: also has no Data or BG3.exe files in it from what I've seen.

I've tried googling other alternatives on where this pathing should go. But I've just come up empty handed, and I've resulted to making a post here. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I started going through the IgnoredMods.JSON file in Resources and deleted all of the DiceSet lines. Opened MM, saved and exported load order, and it's working fine now. I have no idea where those lines came from or why they caused my entire game to stop working, but this fix worked for me.

      Hello!

I have been having issues for a few days now with the error, "Failed to load the main menu from the current game mod SharedDev. The main menu in that mod requires the level . Make sure to clear any local mods and try again. If the problem persists, please contact Larian support."

I followed all steps for installing MM fixer, game data path is set correctly, campaign is set to Main.

Two mods are installed (which were working for months up until a couple days ago) Party Limit Begone and BW Gothic Wardrobe. Script Extender is also installed and everything is updated to latest version.

I verified the integrity of the game files, uninstalled all mods and reinstalled, and uninstalled BG3 and reinstalled.

After saving and exporting load order, I launch with MM and get the error mentioned earlier.

      Additional Info:

I've also started getting an Error in MM saying that I'm Missing Mods in Load Order:

      DiceSet_04 (Dependency)
      DiceSet_05 (Dependency)
      DiceSet_07 (Dependency)

But I don't know what those are. The mods I have installed don't require other mods aside from MM and Script Extender. MM also won't let me Remove All Missing and these don't show up in either Mods folders (Appdata or steamapps)

I would greatly appreciate advice on how to fix this as I'm unable to play my modded saves due to this.

Long story short (as short as possible, that is):
    1. Download and extract the content of the .zip file in any new folder, anywhere.
    2. Delete modsettings.lsx at AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public
    3. Run the game to generate a new one (enough would be to just enter main menu). Exit.
    4. Run .exe file (BG3 Mods Fix) inside newly created folder. A file called game_version.lsx would be generated.
    5. Run BG3 mod manager and drag all the mods from right to left and export. Refresh. Enter the game again (preferably through mod manager launch button). Load any save.
    6. Exit the game, and run BG3 Mods Fix.exe again.
    7. Done.

    Okay, so here's the issue:
Upon trying to play the game there is a warning that previously enabled mods have been disabled. I can try to run a save anyway but after the loading screen this just brings me back to the "press any key to proceed" screen and then the main menu.

Initial research suggested that a mod must be broken, and the game is disabling all of them as a result. I've deleted and reinstalled every mod. I've reinstalled Mod Manager. I've removed and replaced the Dwrite.dll in the game's Bin file to ensure Mod Manager is detecting Script Extender, as advised on the Mod Manager troubleshooting page, just in case Script Extender was the broken mod. Zero change.

I've downloaded and unzipped the Mod Manager Fix, and I've unzipped the base_library file inside. I've searched through all these files. The instructions say to "run the exe", there is no .exe file that I can find. There is a "BG3 Mods Fix" application, that my computer will not allow me to run because it is an "unrecognized app." I do not know how to circumvent this.

At this point I have been troubleshooting for over 2 hours, scrolling through forums, watching tutorials, with no clear or helpful answers found, and I am confused and exhausted. I'm not a tech person. I genuinely don't know what to do now. If anyone has any advice please let me know.

Edit: success! Got advice from a friend to just clear it all and start again. Removed all mods, then added them back exactly the way they were before the problems began. I still get warnings that the Show Approval in Dialogue mod is missing when loading saves, even though it's not, but it all works perfect anyway.

Just going to leave this here because it was driving me crazy. I was trying to get the dash mod to summon the clothing basket. (I know this is unrelated to this fixer but bare with me) I got the mod no issues, installed it spawned the baskets no problem. Upon trying to delete the mod and uninstall it the game refused to let me into my save file because there was a missing mod, even upon saying "yes" to load in anyway it wouldn't. So, I spent quite a while trying to fix it with a troubleshoot method listed in the comments of the dash mod. Now, the next problem which brings me here, the mod manager stopped launching the exe consistently but for some reason the exe was showing as "running" in task manager but it wasn't. Eventually I found the problem. Under preferences general settings I had to force the program to run in DX11 mode and launch through steam. Now it works fine. I think the manager attempts to load the exe directly ignoring what api you have chosen or going through a launcher like GoG / Steam.

Still not working for me the mod manager seems to just either not activate the mods or they get deactivated when I launch the game.
Edit my issue was actually a mod conflict of using both options from the arcane archer mod deleting one fixed it having to hunt down what was happening was annoying since nothing lets you know this mod settings lsx just gets reset.

It crashes to the desktop when trying to level up the character, the problem appeared even in early saves and this fix does not help ... I don’t understand which mod breaks the company - I went through them separately, changed the order, but nothing happens.

Guys i need help. After almost a week(68 hours) of playing with mods, the next time I start the game I see the game crash when loading a save. I open modsettings.lsx and see that all the parameters of the previously loaded mods are gone. Reload the order of mods, start the game and again modsettings.lsx becomes clean is worth only to go into the game.

Played today the first time since hotfix 6 dropped, and it is a complete no go. I get the message when loading a save or starting a game that bg is unable to create a working story.
I have the latest mod fixer installed, updated all my mods, tried starting a new game with just one mod, and tried the mod manager fixer. Nothing works. A new game starts without mods, older saved use the setupo from the save, but will ultimately crash after a few minutes.
THe base game works, but as soon as I add one mod, it seems to break, and it doesn't matter which mod.

My bg3mm builds to the larian studios folder from the BETA and it won't let me change the directory to the full release folder? Also my mods were working fine regardless and then all of a sudden bg3 disabled them so I tried disabling and re enabling all mods with the manager, and then tried a clean manager install and nothing is working. I do have the full rease mod enabler or whatever it's called

Hey, if I activate any Mod in the Mod Manager i can't interact with the buttons like the one that turn the prisoner into a mindflayer in the tutorial.
Or the three buttons that activate or kill the 2 people where Shadowheart could be rescued and even i can't use the reset pot that heals you an restore spell slots.

Anyone else having these problems or some tips?

    Thanks
