I've never experienced a single crash, but others who have reported crashes indicate that seems to happen with party extension mods (ones that allow >4 people parties). This mod uses all native functionality (no script extender). So any crashing is either due to an interaction with another mod (which would potentially cause crashing with multiple Auras) or a vanilla game bug.
Had to uninstall the mod because of constant crashes once I got to Last Light. But now I can't get the original Idol of Silvanus working again. I even added a new one (there's actually a total of 4 different versions of the item in game. I tried every one) with script extender and it still doesn't work. It's also not showing the proper wavy aura when placed. It just has a green tint to it instead.
I have no idea either? when I got to the zethisk or last light inn near Mattis i kept getting a memory spike that would crash the game soon after every time. I tested various mods and the moment i remove this the leak stops and ive had very few crashes since.
Only thing I can think of maybe an interaction with another mod... as in not directly caused by this but an odd interaction between two mods. I have never experienced any crashes including Githyanki Cresh or Last Light Inn. And I was using this mod for like a month before I released it. I definitely went through both of those areas with the mod active and no issues.
You guys are life savers thank you I never downloaded this mod but had the same issues with constant crashing in last light found out I had a mod called Codex Gigas and turned on something called Nature Step and I still had a idol of shar and selune in my party inventory as soon as I turned off nature step and removed both idols from the party I havent had a crash since 🙂
I love this mod!! But there seems to be an issue when the auras overlap with another effect. My game would crash instantly in camp if I had another status like lathanders light or karlahcs elk speed active along this mods status. It might be a problem on my end since I have a s#*! ton of mods, but i read some others having a similar issue.
This mod is pretty dope, love the added oomph to the Idols. Although I do have a question, and this is probably a no-brainer, but do you have any plans on adding custom Idols to the game? Like for Mystra, Eilistraee, The Dead Three, The Absolute, etc. etc?
I had an idea for Mystra and know exactly where I would add it. However, there are a lot of challenges that I'm not equipped to handle. The major one is art. I have no skill with 3D modeling or graphics, nor have I figured out a way to add new assets to the game like that. Most other mods out there either use in game assets for their mods or are modifying xaml files to bring in new assets. This potentially creates incompatibility with other mods.
Anyway, short answer is that, at least for now, adding brand new idols is beyond my skill and capability. Perhaps once we have true modding tools from Larian and if someone were to make the assets I would need it might be a possibility.
Yeah, that's kind of what I thought. Even without need of 3D models, the creation of assets, and adding those assets, would definitely be a big pain in the ass.
I have never made a mod, so if this doesn't make sense, feel free to laugh at me, but would the existing Mystra statue be a source of ready-made art to use for the idol?
Not getting the auras from the idols, quite sure its a mod load order issue but no idea where to place this. Tried bottom of the order, top, tried woegarden's suggestion as best i could and still no dice. Communing with the idols also does nothing. Also i have to add that i love seeing you mod BG3 now, been a fan of your mods for years, skyrim being a massive timesink lol, cheers.
i'm able to find the idols in the tutorial chest, but none of them have their effects. i can commune but it doesn't grant me the effects, just the dismiss option. if you have any insight as to what might be causing this, please let me know
EDIT: twas load order issue, the effects are now applied. however i'm not seeing the status icons in my hotbar. not much of an issue but it's nice to know if you have one on.
for anyone, future reference: load this mod after any treasure table changes but before mods that edit the common actions
Admittingly, I use Disguise Self rarely, but use Speak with Dead much more frequently. Death is one of Shar's domains per tabletop, so Speak with Dead does make sense for Shar.

Full transparency: Patch 6 broke my game (and not just mods; I can't open the Camp Chest which has been reported by people not using mods) so I haven't been playing while waiting for a fix. I therefore won't get to testing any update immediately. Hopefully, Larian will fix it in one of these hotfixes and I'll be able to play again.
Might be a bug but not sure, tried to commune with the idol from the tutorial chest and only Shar's one is broken. Weird but meh, thanx for the mod tbh
I am unable to reproduce. I use Pouch of Wonders to summon the Tutorial Chest contents (so admittingly, not checking from chest directly on Nautiloid) and did Commune on Shar. Character received the Shadow Aura and remove skill as expected.
I've the exact opposite issue : now in Owlbear cave and have this mod from the start. No commune option on Selune idol so I spawn the chest and only Shar idole has the option...
I started a new playthrough the other day and just got to Owlbear Cave last night. The idol had the aura when in my inventory. Commune was also present and added the aura and remove ability as expected.
Only thing I can think of is that you have another mod loaded which modified the RootTemplate for the idol. Everything else about the mod is new records (the auras, buffs, removal abilities), but the record for the idol itself was edited. If you have anything else which edits the idol's record, that will conflict. Try moving this mod lower in your load order and spawn the tutorial chest.
Hmm, turns out, the game was crashing with the latest update of ImprovedWorldTips. Removed that and highlight everything revised, suddenly the game is stable again and the idols work? Weirdge?
For the record I actually use ImprovedUI Tooltip (alt toggle, hide empty/looted), which includes EWT and just loading your mod after Let there be tooltips (which EWT author uses) does the trick.
I'd rather have Modular Higlight Tooltip, which I used for quite some time, but is a little afraid of the reported issues :/
Interesting... I hadn't looked at the mod page for Modular in a long time so didn't realize there was an issue with survival checks. I definitely get what was described: some work and some don't. So there are a couple of places where I knew there were chests and didn't get a check. I never equated it to that mod however. The thing is that I haven't found a better highlight mod from the standpoint of most of them highlight too many things and my OCD won't let me not click on everything highlighted. So Modular filters things down better versus a lot of the alternatives. I've never found anything in the hidden chests you dig up that is so amazing that I can't live without finding a few of them. Now that I know about it, next character I may try the thing suggested in the bugs and unload the mod to start the game then load it after hitting the beach. According to reports, that mitigates the bug.
Same effect with Better Tooltps. Sadly the game keeps crahsing if i enter certain areas. For example the fight in the Counting Hpuse4 in act 2 for Karlach's quest is impossible, The Game keeps crashing right after for me.
