Does true strike even work? I get too may failed rolls on true strike with absurd values like 3 or 5. How probable is it to throw 2d20 and get a sum value of less than 10? I wager very unlikely yet I seem to get it every couple attack rolls.
Yeah I know but I'm just saying. each has 20 values, so in total they add up to 40. so you're gonna roll on average something that adds up in the vicinity of 20, but the rolls on the lower extreme are way too common.
Sorry to nerco but rules as written what advantage does is if you have advantage or disadvantage on an ability check, a saving throw, or an attack roll you roll a second d20 when you make the roll. Use the higher of the two rolls if you have advantage, and use the lower roll if you have disadvantage. For example, if you have disadvantage and roll a 17 and a 5, you use the 5. If you instead have advantage and roll those numbers, you use the 17. It doesn't use the average or the sum it just makes two rolls and uses the higher of the two the one that isn't used falls into the void
People get hung up on language and semantics while actually thinking through the logic of neither.
OP said "sum" - so people pointing out it doesn't use a sum or an average... completely missing OP's technically correct observation.
The system doesn't need to use the sum of two rolls for two rolls to have a sum. If you roll a d20 with advantage and get a 3, then the sum of the two rolls couldn't have been more than 6. If you get a 5, then the sum couldn't have been more than 10.
I think the issue is most likely that you are less likely to notice when you get decent rolls - but when you have advantage, and get a 5 or 3 it grabs attention by being highly annoying. Just remember that "advantage" doesn't mean "you win" (ultimately you almost certainly are going to win, but it's not for that reason).
As of last hotfix I can't seem to make it work. Is there a workaround? I've tried disabling and removing all other mods. I love this mod. I can't be happy without it.
Enjoying the mod! I was wondering, could you make a version where it's bonus action but still requires concentration? After playing with it I think I'd like that trade-off while allowing it to be used more than once per combat.
As of Aug 27, this doesn't seem to work. I have no other mods that would alter this ability and all my other mods are working. Not sure what's going on.
