9/5/2024: I haven't started porting this over to the toolkit/Patch 7 yet but it *should* hopefully still work since it doesn't edit UI & doesn't require Script Extender. 9/6/2024: Did a quick test and the current Subrace Fix file seems to work on Patch 7 except for Lightfoot Halfling. The Silver version doesn't seem to be working on any of the subraces/bodies that the Fix file covers. I'll work on updating both files for Patch 7.
Subrace Fix and Silver versions 1.1.0 for Patch 7 are now live! (DO NOT DOWNLOAD 1.1.0 IF YOU AREN'T ON PATCH 7)
Note: I haven't tested with Unique Tav or EotB yet
Friendly reminder to be patient with mod authors! Not everyone joined the toolkit test, & even those who did join did not necessarily prioritize porting their existing mods over (I personally spent a lot of time working on new stuff in order to familiarize myself with the toolkit, then suddenly it's revealed that there was just a week till Patch 7 release)
This mod only affects the "HUM_F_ARM_Nightsong_A_Body" material, of which I listed what things beside the Umberlee hair accessories use that on the description page. Orin's hair accessories actually use two different materials (iirc, one is for the crown + the end of the braid, and the other is for the little bits throughout the braid).
I am using the Loose Files version, and it appears that it isn't working for Lightfoot Halfling. I completely understand if you've not got time or interest in updating, so no pressure intended. Just wanted to let you know! I do prefer loose files for multiplayer reasons, but I will swap to the pak file if you've moved on since I couldn't figure out how to fix it myself.
Was honestly really stumped as to why fem Lightfoot Halflings were the *only* body it wasn't working for & had to unpack the version I made in the toolkit. In the loose file version, I had edited the CharacterVisualBank in the Shared folder & that seems to work fine for everyone else, but to get it to work for fem LF Halflings, apparently I had to also edit CharacterVisualBank in the SharedDev folder.
I don't know if you're still considering making patches for custom races and such, but this doesn't seem to work for the Half-Cambion Subrace (https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1991?tab=description)
I totally understand not wanting to make compatibility patches for each race mod, but would be very appreciated!
I don't know why I didn't test with modded races before (or I might have but not very thoroughly, I really need to made a testing checklist,,,,), but yeah that seems to be the case. I'll look into getting the silver version to work with modded races.
Oh whoops, I think I forgot to actually set it to the right category when I made the mod (you would think that having the selection default to miscellaneous would be a good idea but no, it defaults to audio). Thank you for pointing that out!
Theoretically, you could also use this to change the color of the accessories to whatever you want (for any of the "player" race entries, not just the ones I changed here).
Search for the "player" entry you're looking for, go to the Vector3Parameter called "Color_02", set the "Enabled" line to "True", and replace the rgb value on the "Value" line with whatever the rgb value for the color you want is. The silver color that the Half-Drow entry uses is "0.8640106 0.739998 0.6504024".
If you're using the loose file version, you will need Lslib to convert the file from .lsf to .lsx in order to edit it, then back to .lsf for the game to read it. If you're using the pak version, you will still need Lslib in order to unpak the pak, but the BG3 Modder's Multitool makes it a little easier in my opinion.
Tried my hand at it and can't get it to work either. "0.8640106 0.739998 0.6504024" is also the "Color_2" value for Lolth female Drow player even though the accessories appear gold. I tried just enabling it anyway and nothing changed.
Do you have Unique Tav or Eyes of the Beholder installed? Because either of those will overwrite the loose file (which you also need to convert back to .lsf)
So I talked to Kartoffels & Labotor, and I believe they included the Color_02 change in their mods' latest updates, meaning that if you have either of them then you shouldn't need this one. I am currently out of town for the holidays though so I cannot currently test this myself, but I think it follows that if this mod had to overwrite them in order to work that them making that little change should mean that this mod is unnecessary if you have either of those. When I get home, I do plan on finishing the instructions I started on editing the loose file version to make the accessories whatever color you want, and a couple other things.
Ahh I'll be waiting for the instructions! I never modded anything myself but I tried doing what you said in your comment but it wasn't working (I didn't have unique tav or EoTB installed) I think I was probably doing it wrong and my character's appearance broke (at least I think that's what caused it cause it's what I was doing when it happened) after trying a million things I finally fixed it but yeah I'll wait for better instructions to try again.

And the silver version should no longer require any race/subrace patches with how it is currently set up.
I originally didn't intend to, but since UT hasn't been updating as frequently, I'll look into it.
